“Tradition is beauty!”
My Nickname is: hopeforamerica
I am feeling... blessed
I am a
female and am 56 years old!
My Biography: I invite Christians, both male and female of legal age, to read and comment in my blog! I am a widow who is involved in church, and am a homebody. I have different interests, love to read, write, cook, travel. I am active, walking three miles at least three times a week, and still do my old dance stretches and toning exercises. I'm a collector of antiques, and have an older home. I am a generous person with a feisty streak and a good sense of humor. I consider myself a pretty good judge of character; yet I'm far from perfect! I am not above humbling myself by admitting where I've erred, and am also quick to thank people, possessing gratitude as I realize all I possess is from God. Indeed, I am afraid not to share with others who are in need, while using wisdom and discernment if and when I provide help. God's blessings to everyone!
My Testimony: I was saved while sitting, head bowed, on an island in the middle of Albertson's grocery store parking lot, when I was 28 years old. My brother and his friend coached me along. I henceforth joined a Bible-believing church and was discipled by the church secretary.
My philosophy on life prior to this occurrence was live for today, sex, drugs, rock and roll. Indeed, it took awhile after I accepted the Lord before I became consecrated to Him. Our lives growing up was not happy for my siblings and me. This is because, although dad had a good job and could afford for mom to remain a homemaker, behind closed doors it was crazy-making.
I lived and worked in San Francisco for 20 years, where I relocated from Sonoma with my first husband, whom I divorced shortly thereafter. We married way too young! I was on the fast track at my jobs even though my personal life was a mess. I was studying dance while working at a large oil company in the financial district. And when I'd return home I'd check out on marijuana. I also hung out at rock and roll bars, drank, and dated more men than I can count. Eventually, I was a crash-and-burn!
So at 40 years old I moved back home with mom and dad in Sonoma, and rededicated my life to Christ. I married once again a couple of years' later, to an amazing, caring, well-liked, and stable man who passed away 4.5 years ago. If you were to compare me now to the person who relocated back home with my parents 16 years ago, you would not recognize me. I simply am not the same person! I am a widow and my life at 55 is comfortable enough for me to retire. I'm very active in my church! And who do I thank for all of this? A wonderful husband, yes. But mainly? The Lord God Almighty!
I am Blessed. I am Blessed. I am Blessed!!!
