“I am a child of god”
My Nickname is: kraftykatz
I am feeling... peaceful Right now I am... joyful
I am a
married female and am 63 years old!
My Biography: I am 63 years old and have been married for 35 years. We have 3 adult children, 2 sons and 1 daughter, who is married. We have no grandchildren. I have 2 cats which keep me company. I enjoy reading, sewing and crafts of all kinds. I do counted cross stitch and quilting most often, but also make cards and some scrap booking. I have also been working on my genealogy for several years. I have found that I am truly an "all American girl". I enjoy reading in the Psalms and Proverbs, these are my favorite books to read. I enjoy reading but finding quality books outside the Christian category is extremely difficult.
From September to June, I am in a women's Bible study group. I have been a part of this group for about 5 years now. It seems I have become a part of 2 Churches, one for the Bible study and one for Sunday worship. I am also Church librarian at my home Church. There are many friends at both and we are all His children.
Life purpose statement:
To be a women of God's wisdom, a faithful follower of Christ, and a joyful servant to my family and a encourager to all around me.
My Testimony: I grow up in a small, socially segregated community. We were very poor, living in a house without indoor pluming. That means we had an old fashioned out house and no hot running water indoors, only cold. I accepted Christ at the age of 15 in a small country church during a revival week. By the age of 18, I had stopped attending church. I married during my senior year of high school, but did graduate. It was an abuse marriage ending in divorce. I had a son after the divorce. When my son was still an infant, I met and married a wonderful man. He adopted my son and we had 2 other children. I had what I had always told God I wanted, a loving and kind husband, children and a nice home and we were not poor. Still there was an empty, unhappiness inside. I knew something was missing. After the birth of my third child, I almost died. My baby girl was 5 days old and I was in the hospital emergency room and I knew death was a real possibility. As I lay there, praying to God, His gentle voice spoke to me and told me to sleep and that everything would be all right. I did not know if that meant I would go to be with Him or go home to my family. I slept for 3 days. They had to wake me to take blood and do tests. After 5 days, I went home to my family. On July 12, 1976, the peace that surpasses understanding entered my heart and I found what was missing in my life, a personal relationship with my Savior. I wish I could say everything has been perfect from that time on, but it has not. I struggled to quit smoking. I was then involved in a Bible study. I prayed God would take away all desire for cigarettes. One morning, before study, I told myself that I would have one more cigarette and quit. God spoke to me again and told me that I had already had my last cigarette last night. That was in November of 1977. In 1980 I was diagnosed with a server form of crippling rheumatoid arthritis, with soft tissue involvement. That means everything hurt and my life became very painful. I could not even tie my own shoes. God has been my rock, refuge and shelter all these years. He has been with me through all of the troubles of life. People are amazed that I can still do as much as I do, but it is by the grace of my Lord and Savior that I can do anything. My life verse is Romans 12:12, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer".
