“From the dark to the light” My Nickname is: papillionkiller
I am feeling... artistic
Right now I am... i cant keep up with all the new people. so if you see this and are new, hi!
I am a married male and am 51 years old!

My Biography:
I have been a Christian since 74/75.
Have visited or spoken in about every denomination there is.
I am now at a turning point, as I think many are, of what it means to be a Christian in America.
I am asking myself again; What can I do to help the Church? To share Jesus?

I had a little falling out with God, He won.

We've had it easy in America, I'm afraid that's about to change or changing.
We/I must get back to the basics of our Christian faith.

Pray for wisdom and knowledge and understanding, then be Silent and listen.

My Testimony:
I am a outlaw. I have committed every sin there is, ether in act or in thought. All my life I have known about church and Jesus but didn't know. Until I landed in jail for the second time looking at a 10yr to when ever sentence. For some reason one day coming back to my bunk a paper back version of the Bible was laying on my bed. I thought, hey! something to read anyway, and I read it from cover to cover. Before I got threw the new testament I knew who God is and why HE sent His Son Jesus to die for my sins and that I needed to accept Him and ask for His forgiveness. Yup! Here I was in jail laying on my bunk holding this Bible and crying real tears mumbling for Jesus to come into my heart and forgive me and let His Holy Spirit teach me to live like He wants me too. Big tough guy huh? I prayed a very specific prayer that was answered to detail. Nine months later I was out of jail and studying the Bible and working for the Lord. Since, I have married and had children and now have grandchildren. A lot has happen and I have stumbled a lot, bad decisions for a while when I wasn't putting Jesus first in my life. But His Spirit has always been there tugging me back. And I Love Him for that.

“I saw your recent discussion about attributes... thought you might be interested in the following:

LOVE. 1 John 4:8-10 describes the essence of God, agape love. Agape love (unlike eros love) is not conditional upon the devotion or response of the one receiving the love. This is clearly demonstrated in God's unconditional love for Israel (Deuteronomy 7:7-8) as well as Hosea's love for his adulterous wife (Hebrews 3:1). The hope for Christian counselees is that God's love and faithfulness does not depend on our love and faithfulness towards Him. Instead it depends in His very essence. 2 Timothy 2:13 is the most succinct demonstration of this. "...if we are faithless, he remains faithful - for he cannot deny himself." The second half of this verse literally means He cannot be "untrue to Himself". This leads me to the example of Jeff. Jeff assumed that his tithing, sobriety, and righteous hyper vigilance of his wife's behavior gained him favor and blessing from God. He did not have an assurance of his salvation because he would occasionally experience hostility as a result of his meticulous monitoring of his wife. When these feuds would ignite, he would question God's love and blessing upon his life. The way that God's attribute of love can minister to Jeff in the counseling room as well as in every day life is twofold. First of all, Jeff can be taught about the unconditional nature of God's love in order for him to not feel as though his righteous acts were helping him increase God's love for him. Secondly, when he does fail in the area of the spiritual protection of his wife, he can be taught about the biblical view of headship love, as it relates to Christ's love for the church.
JUSTICE. In 2 Timothy 4:8 the Lord is referred to as the "righteous judge". God's just ways function in the world in general as well as in the demonstration of rewards and punishments. God's justice gives hope for forgiveness to Christians that are truly repentant (1 John 1:9). Psalm 76:7-9 is a complete picture of hope for the Christian of God's anger, judgment, and justice. Because of this attribute of God, "the earth feared and was still." Yet God also saved all the humble of the earth as a result of His judgment. This leads me the example of Darcy. Darcy often thought that since all confrontation had the potential to offend people, she should not do it unless it was absolutely necessary (i.e. a physical emergency). Since this pattern often lead her to make friendships with unbelievers... it made it difficult for her to influence her friends towards Christ and the standards of a Biblical life. What often happened instead is that her friends would influence her towards immorality and away from a Biblically led life. Teaching Darcy about God's justice did two things for Darcy. First of all, it taught her about the nature of God's justice towards unbelievers as well as wayward believers. After she understood this, she then saw how God could use her to lead her friends to faith in Christ and a Biblically led life. The idol of their approval was more important to her than the truth about the full Christian gospel that needed to be shared with them as well as lived by her. The second thing that this teaching did for Darcy was to help her see how God can use "offending people" to bring them to saving faith and then heart-felt repentance.
SOVEREIGNTY. God's rule is final in all things and is also the cause of all things. Creation (Revelation 4:11), government (Proverbs 21:1, Daniel 4:35), election (Ephesians 1:4, 11), the suffering of Christ (Acts 2:23) as well as Christians (Philippians 1:29), man's destiny (Acts 18:21), and the minute details of life (Matthew 10:29) are all completely brought about by God. Thus the Christian counselee can have hope that the God who alone reigns supremely over His universe (Isaiah 45:6, 44:8) also watches over each human step. Matthew 10:29-31 demonstrates this most clearly. "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." This leads me to the example of Chuck. Chuck assumes that since God is sovereign, He then has no need to hear our prayers. He makes this assumption based on his misunderstanding of the doctrine of God's sovereignty and power. He figures that since God has ultimate power... he cannot be swayed one way or another, so why bother. However what Chuck is missing entirely is that it is BECAUSE of God's power and sovereignty that He has the ability to answer the petitions of His people.
THE ESSENCE OF GOD'S NAME, YAHWEH. This name is God's promise of deliverance. This name can also be interpreted "I will be as I will be" and "I will do as I will do". It is a hope to Christian counselee's that the name Yahweh is a verb. Yahweh is alive, not dead, He is present, not absent, and He is active, not asleep. In addition, the fact that he revealed His name to Moses in Exodus 3:13-14 proves that the God of the universe wants to show Himself to us personally and relationally. This name can be used to counsel our counselees by reminding them of God's continual present existence. Whenever we or our counselees are faced with circumstances that appear defeating, hopeless, or continually miserable, we can be reassured that God is as He is and will be as He will be. Not one of our circumstances are beyond his knowledge, power, or presence. Therefore He has the ability, because of His continual presence to deliver us, even if it is by allowing us to persevere through our circumstances.
PROVISION El Shaddai means "the Mighty Provider". The very essence of this Name of God demonstrates His almighty ability to make good on His promises, even in the light of what looks like unattainable objectives. The charge that was given to Abram in Genesis 17 was preceded by God ministering to him by the demonstration of His name, El Shaddai. Before we admonish our counselees with Biblical mandates and commands, we should use the approach that was used in Genesis 17. We first need to remind them that just as God was able to make good on His promises to Abram, so is He able to meet our counselee's needs.
