[bible]John 19:38-42[/bible]
Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus
They are mentioned in John, and Joseph of Arimathea is mentioned in the other 3 gospels as well. If you look at what these men did to get Jesus body and all the money they spent to prepare His body for burial, you can't help but be a little envious. When I look at the account of these men I see them treating Jesus like He was their own son. Yes they are Jesus' secret disciples, and rise to the occasion being used to fulfill Messianic prophecy. At first glance they seem kind of cowardly and little bit slow in acting out their faith, almost too late if you will. As many times as I read the story and heard it taught Joseph and Nicodemus were always skimmed over like "no body's". There are many who are like these disciples. They are definitely not poor, nor despised, but well respected by the world and they are a part of the body of Christ. Wow!
If you are a secret disciple be encouraged. If you know some bless them.
