The Gift of Faith
The Gift of Giving
The Gift of Healing
The Gift of Hospitality

The Gift of Interpretation of Tongues
The Gift of Knowledge
The Gift of Mercy
The Gift of Miracles
The Gift of Shepherding
The Gift of Teaching

The Gift of Helps

The six additional gifts which many people think we should include/consider:

The Gift of Poverty
The Gift of Ekballism
The Gift of Intercession
The Gift of Leadership
The Gift of Missionary
The Gift of Service

Some people say that some of these are "not for today's church" or were "for the early church only". I think this is probably wrong having been a minister for going on 20 years, and seeing some pretty amazing things happen that I never thought would have been possible, by both the newest of God's children as well as extremely devoted Christians pushing the boundaries of the modern church.

Some people say that every Christian has at least one of these gifts within their live. I fully agree with this statement. While many of the gifts are reserved by God for a very select few, the larger percentage of the gifts listed are what the largest majority of Christianity makes up.

Some people say that the average Christian does not have more than three of these gifts within their life. I think this is also true. While there are some Christians who have been able to mature into having more than three gifts, it does seem to be that the vast majority of Christians do not posses more than three of these "gifts". Yes, they may 'present' such qualities in their live, but they do not 'possess' those qualities within their lives.

Some people say that some of the listed gifts should not even been considered gifts at all. I think this is farm from being inerrant. But I am a literalistic believer and thus I believe that what the Bible says, and what the Bible presents, is true and factual. For me, if I see something in the Holy Text, something that is 'of God' than I believe it exists, and as the Word of God clearly presents, what was true yesterday is also true today and tomorrow.

The last paragraph of this blog says it all John. As for me I agree -I believe God's Word is ALL truth and is as true Today and Forever as it was when it was written.

Dear...may God bless you for your writing..when we talk of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, it is for the edification of the Church, and not for personal glory...let all glory to HIM. Gifts are like the leaves on a tree. it should catch sunlight, do photosynthesis and finally produce fruits. When Jesus approached the fig tree, it was full of leaves, but no fruits. Will Jesus look at our Christian lives, where he has blessed us with gifts, and find no fruits. Are we Christians producing the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Are we living obeying his wish, including the Ten Commandments. Are we doing adultery? Are we keeping his Holy Seventh Day Sabbath. It is obedience God demands. Let us reflect Christ in our lives...may God bless us all.

God has not suspended any of His marvelous gifts. He did not say that only the Christians that saw Jesus could and would have these gifts. Good job on the post, John.
