ChristianBlog.Com Reaches 10,000 Members!

Greetings Everybody!

Just a few minutes ago ChristianBlog.Com had our 10,000th member join!

This is a major mile stone for us, for me, for the website!

While 10,000 might be but a shadow within a shadow when compared to websites such as myspace, facebook and so on, I like to think that 10,000 members at a highly unique and very niche sector of the world wide web, is a rather impressive number!

ChristianBlog.Com went online on December 12, 2005 and officially went online (out of beta) on November 16, 2006 -- that makes ChristianBlog.Com just slightly under 29 months old! That is an average of 345 new bloggers every month, or around 11.5 new bloggers every single day, for the last 29 months.

ChristianBlog.Com has become the #1 Christian Blog Service Provider in the world. We rank #1 at every major search engine (including: Google.Com, Yahoo.Com, Live.Com, Ask.Com) because we have put great effort into making sure that the ChristianBlog.Com bloggers published content is quickly indexed by the search engines, and done so in the best ways possible to ensure our bloggers get top rankings for their blogs. All new blog entries submitted to ChristianBlog.Com get indexed by the major search engines within less than one or two minutes after they get published.

ChristianBlog.Com has gone from being a website ranked in the 1,000,000 most popular website to being ranked 177,674 (as of the time I am writing this) in a little over two years. We went from 500,000 to under 200,000 in just under one year! You can help us reach the illusive and highly prestigious rank of being one of the 100,000 most popular websites by installing the Alexa toolbar, which is a small add-on for Firefox and Internet Explorer. Just install it, visit ChristianBlog.Com like you normally do, and together you can help us reach that Top 100,000 most popular websites ranking!

Between the start of 2009 we have had an amazing 5,250,000+ pages of the website viewed by our members and those visiting ChristianBlog.Com -- that's a lot of folks reading blogs - and over 16,771,990 pages viewed in the last 12 months!

ChristianBlog.Com has had members from 127 different countries join over the last three years, including: Afghanistan, American Samoa, Angola, Anguilla, Antigua/Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bermuda, Brazil, British Indian Ocean T., Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cayman Islands, Chile, China, Colombia, Democratic Rep. Congo, Costa Rica, Cote D'ivoire, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guam, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia, Lithuania, Macau, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritius, Mexico, Moldova, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Territory, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Russian Federation, Rwanda, Saint Vincent/Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia (Slovak Rep.), Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, US Minor Outlying Islands, Venezuela, Viet Nam, Virgin Islands (U.S.), Yemen, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

But enough about throwing numbers out... because numbers do not mean anything if ministry is not taking place, right!

10,000 Members of Ministering:

At the end of the day, at the end of my days - if you know what I mean - on that day when I have to give account for my deeds, I truly do hope the Lord looks at the depths of our life to see how much we have ministered in His name, to spread His love, His Word, and the life that is His life in us. Because if all He looks at is 'numbers', I truly do think most of us are going to have to hide our head in shame - including myself. For me, I stand on the passage of Scriptures that reveal to us that "growth" and "planting of seeds" are our ministry here on earth. That our life ministry to Christ while on earth is to share the Gospel of Truth, and lead others to Him, and grow the vineyards of the Body of Christ.

I remember back when ChristianBlog.Com reached 5,000 members. I remember mentioning to somebody "this is an amazing amount of people we have had the chance to minister to!" - and here we are with 10,000 members and I cannot help but to stop and let a smile of joy come to my face when I think about what it means to have been able to create the vessel that has united together TEN THOUSAND Christians from around the globe! I'm no Benny Hinn. I'm no Jessie Duplantis. I'm not one of those people who's name you hear on TV. I'm just a guy living in the beautiful Redwoods of California trying my best to create and maintain a ministry website for the thousands and thousands of Christians that I know need ministering too and need to minister themselves. So, it is just truly amazing to me that we have reached the 10,000 members mark! Thank you to everybody who has called ChristianBlog.Com "home" and done so much to help grow and expand the reach of the ministry of ChristianBlog.Com!

10,000 Members - An Understanding of Growth:

I have two feeling for a few months now... feelings I've shared with only a few people... and thought I'd share with everybody now!

First, I have felt that this 10,000 members mark was going to be a HUGE "time-line event" for us! By that I mean that I have had a feeling that when we reached the 10,000 the flood-gates would literally explode open and the masses would come pouring in! I have envisioned this day for a long time. I hope that the time is here! The website is ready, the ministry is ready, the people are ready, and I feel the Lord is ready too! So get ready folks! (p.s.: please use our invite a friend feature to send an email invitation to all of your friends to come and join ChristianBlog.Com!)

Secondly, I have had this feeling that the "community" was about to become a "family". By that I mean that there comes three main growth cycles in most major websites: (#1) an initial period where a website grows and grows and grows until a base or core set of members start to call the website 'home', (#2) a time when those core members and new members join a website start to join together and become 'a community' who learns about each other, begins to care and love for each other, spends time in prayer for each other and so on, and than finally, (#3) there comes a time when the "community" becomes "a family" that is truly joined together in the Christian love for one another that they begin to think of each other as not just 'internet friends' but rather as family.

10,000 Members - A Family Is Born:

It is my true and honest belief that just a couple nights ChristianBlog.Com "became a family". Just one or two days before we reached the 10,000 members mark many of you got to experience an event in our members chatroom that was such a unifying event that even I myself and not sure where the line between "the internet" and "fellowship" was at. (see this).

What happened was a complete event thought-up, organized, campaigned, and advertised, by the members of ChristianBlog.Com! For the first time ever an event happened at ChristianBlog.Com that I had no involvement what so ever in! (other than attending). In over three years that has never happened and it made my heart so glad to know that ChristianBlog.Com has finally become "a family" for the hundreds of you that log into ChristianBlog.Com every single day of your life! That truly makes my heart joyful!

Early today I was thinking it was about time to change the sub-title of ChristianBlog.Com! For three years we've had the sub-title of "ChristianBlog.Com Is A Community-Style Website For Christian Bloggers!"... but I think it might be time to change that! Maybe something along the lines of "ChristianBlog.Com - A Global-Family Website For Christian Bloggers!" or something along those lines! Something that shows that ChristianBlog.Com has moved beyond just being "another website" and moved beyond being "a community" and moved onto being "a family"! So, share your ideas and thoughts. Like mine, Cool! Got another suggestion, suggest away!

10,000 Members - What The Future Holds:

ChristianBlog.Com has a long way to go! 10,000 members is GREAT -- but what about the 2.1 billion Christians that haven't joined yet?

Well we need your help to let them know that ChristianBlog.Com exists! Yes, I do realize that not all of the 2+ billion people who are Christians in this world are going to care about "blogging" - but as many (most?) of you know ChristianBlog.Com is not "just about blogging." I think it is safe to say that ChristianBlog.Com moved beyond being "just a blogging website" a couple years ago - and has instead become one of the largest (I'd like to say "the largest" but I have no solid proof of it yet) websites in the world for Christian adults to come together and fellowship with each other in the unique ways that ChristianBlog.Com allows people to fellowship!

There is no doubt that ChristianBlog.Com has provided a very unique place on the internet for a lot of people. ChristianBlog.Com has some of the common features you'll find at every website - and a few features you will not find at almost any website. Together they help make ChristianBlog.Com what it is -- a website where people can come and be blessed and maybe bless others too!

That is our motto. We like it... we LOVE it... and we are sticking with it!

So what does the future hold?

I will continue my best to make sure that ChristianBlog.Com continues to be a place where people can come and be blessed and maybe bless others!

A Few Thank You's:

10,000 Christians united together... three years of ministry... hearts united and hearts broken... children born... loved ones healed... faith grown...

These are just a few of the things that I have thought about this morning as I was thinking of what to write in this announcement.

But beyond any of those things, was a huge list of people I wanted to say "Thank you" to! Some of them for their faith and trust in me. Some of them for their most precious time and volunteerism. Some of them for their financial support. Some of them for their business support. But most of all, all of them for their friendship!

From the business side of things:

Frank from Doreo.Com who is the man who runs the company that the ChristianBlog.Com website runs from. Over the last few years Frank has been an amazing and incredible friend and provider.

Oliver from otweb.com who is the man who originally passed along the domain to me. Perhaps one day we will both be able to be richly rewarded for our efforts Oliver!

Phil Gons from Logos Bible Software who is one of the most down-to-earth-yet-highly-professional guys I have ever worked within in 15+ years of Christian business.

Rick Killingsworth from Salem Web Network who is one of the few in the industry who has recognized the true potential of ChristianBlog.Com and who one day I hope we can work out together a nice arrangement for the long-term future of ChristianBlog.Com!

From the ChristianBlog.Com Teams:

GreyBear (view profile) who has been my right-hand man since before the website went public! He has been there for almost every major decision made and a lot we decided together to not make! Without a doubt ChristianBlog.Com would not still be online if it was not for the friendship and faithfulness of this man of God!

EverFaithful (view profile) who has been my right-hand lady for longer than I can remember. She has helped GreyBear and myself stay in check when our male-oriented minds started getting the better of us. She has also been a true and faithful friend to not only myself and everybody else that's ever joined the ChristianBlog.Com Teams, but to hundreds of hundreds of our members!

ClayOnMyEyes (view profile) who no longer is an active member of ChristianBlog.Com but one of the website earliest core members and a man who become a good friend. I hope someday the Lord leads you back here in a more frequent manner!

HappyToBeRestored (view profile) - who is sadly no longer apart of the ChristianBlog.Com Team, but we are joyful in the Lord for the changes in her live that lead her away!

Scott (view profile) who was a great friend for but a short time. May the Lord continue to bless you as he takes you in a different direction!

PhilRuby (view profile) who was apart of our short-lived Music Review Team. Loved your writings and sorry it didn't work out.

YouAreGolden (view profile) who was also part of the short-lived Music Review Team. Thanks for the reviews and the time you spent!

Philippiansfourseven (view profile) who was a great sister in the Lord and who committed a great deal of her time in publishing a daily Bible verse for ChristianBlog.Com!

Ronau (view profile) who is also not an active member anymore but was a great help for the short time he was apart of the Team!

KraftyKatz (view profile) who has come about as close to being a Team Member as you can get without becoming one! Pure laziness on my part is the only reason she isn't one already. Sorry.

(ok, I hope I am not missing anybody in this list)

From the ChristianBlog.Com Community/Family:

The list of people that I could thank that are not apart of the ChristianBlog.Com Teams yet who has helped me and/or the website is a list of people way to long to every begin to list! For that I am truly touched and truly grateful. Thank you to everybody!

I would like to share a few folks who have helped ChristianBlog.Com in one-way-or-other of the last year or so as I think they deserve a bit of recognition!

The following members are presently (or where in the near past) monthly paying Premier Members of ChristianBlog.Com:

alight, aliveintheword, bimonics, blessings2you, blest, bryon, coldapplianceman, disciplevance, drhee, fairhaven7, faithful777, fredlim, gfccbrother, grandmabruce1955, greenforchrist, happytoberestored, hopeforamerica, kraftykatz, kreynolds, kspeach, lukefour27, matthewedmunds, mkmills, papillionkiller, peprahgyamfi, philruby, ralphb, randy1954, reborn, richsongbird, savedbyegrace, shlomo

To those of you who have signed up for Premier Membership... THANK YOU!! Your monthly support is a huge help to keeping ChristianBlog.Com online! All I ask is that you continue to encourage others to also become Premier Members to further help keep ChristianBlog.Com paying it's bills without me continuing to go into debt each month.

The following members have at some point become a ChristianBlog.Com Donator... THANK YOU!! More than anything it is the group of donators who help keep ChristianBlog.Com from further causing me to go into debt each month! ChristianBlog.Com averages around $650.00 (USD) to keep online each month and there is no doubt in my mind that those who have become ChristianBlog.Com Donators are the true heart of the group keeping ChristianBlog.Com online and from me having to shut the website down due to not being able to continue to fund the website. To each and every one of you who've ever donated... everybody that has ever used ChristianBlog.Com rightfully deserves to send out a "thank you" out to each of you!

alight, bimonics, blessings2you, clayonmyeyes, cnaskew, deliverance, disciplevance, doulos, everfaithful, fullarmor, gandalf, goodnews, happytoberestored, iraqivetsgtret, kraftykatz, kreynolds, mindyeva, mumbly, philippiansfourseven, poodlelady, prasnhym, reborn, savedbyegrace, tunerdewd27

(please note: both of the lists above are not complete. some folks have requested to never have their names shown and some are not listed due to poor recording on my part, and due to lost records when we had some data loose awhile back - sorry if I missed your name!!)

Congratulations on reaching 10,000!

Yes, a number of people on this site have been "family" to me for some time. I stumbled upon this site in July 2007. In early December 2007, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I ended up being pretty much homebound from the end of January - June due to treatment. I could only get out and about for about 3 or 4 days every two weeks with before getting nailed again. Christianblog.com was and still is one of my lifelines. I praise God for your obedience in setting this up and I pray for this site daily.

May the blessings of God be upon you, John and your wonderful team. I have have truly ministered to as a result of your labor and I know there are many others who would agree that they have been ministered to as well!

Blessings!

John,
I came here two years ago, not knowing what a blogging community was. I was looking only for a place where no one knew me, so I could pour my heart and pain out by writing. Boy, was I surprised when folks began commenting and encouraging me. (Boy, was I glad that I didn't name names or name my pain for the world to see!)

I began to fall in love with my fellow CB'ers and the more I wrote and formed relationships here, my pain faded. God of course is my Healer, but He used CB (and thus you, John) as His instrument and His tool.

I"ve said before and I'll say again . . . I hope I'm standing nearby, within earshot, when the Lord welcomes you home. I just want to hear Him say to you, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant!"

Although not "officially" part of any team on this site, I have gladly, in a way, functioned as somewhat of a pastor to many. Of course there is no such thing as this, but I think it backs up what John is saying about the "family" and "community" aspect of this wonderful site. The more people become a family the more they crave fellowship with each other and want someone to sort of keep them going in the right direction.

I truly do value this site and consider it my spiritual home (not church). I look forward daily to both posting a blog as well as reading what so many talented people have written. I look forward to praying for the needs brought up and rejoicing in the praises when great things come to pass through those prayers.

Back in February I understand there was a great outpouring of prayer for me during a medical procedure. I will forever remain thankful that there were believers so concerned about my physical life to have prayed so much. That is what a family does for one another.

A few weeks ago I posted a blog on a fantasy Christian Blog Festival here at my house. I thought maybe twenty people might comment on it. Much to my amazement that blog had over 100 comments. What that indicates is the yearning in the hearts of those who are here most every day to be with those whom they have come to respect, admire, love and otherwise become friends with.

When the idea of a communion service in a chat room first came up, I was a doubting Thomas. I didn't think it could be done decently and in order. As the planning for the service picked up steam, I was at total peace that the service would be fine, and it turned out to be MORE THAN fine! This was because of the prayers and dedicated planning of all involved.

I mention all these things, John, to reinforce what you are saying about how this site has become much more than a blogging site, but has truly become a community and in reality a family. I can think of nowhere else I would rather be and can think of no other community of believers I would rather be a part of and no other family a member of than HERE. As I said before, this is my spiritual home.

Thank you John for your sacrifices and for sticking with the dream God placed in your heart. Thank you for not giving up or giving in to the temptation to quit or change direction with this site. God WILL reward you for all the kabillion hours of work you have put into this site and for all the financial sacrifices you have made to not only keep this site up and going but as professional as it is.

If I were a rich man I would gladly repay you for all your hard work, but since I am not, I will pray the Lord does that for you. All I can do is keep supporting this site with financial gifts, writing my daily blog, praying daily for so many of the people on this site and in some cases being their unofficial "pastor", friend or even "brother". Thank you for providing this site and thanks be to God for 10,000!!!!

Blessings 2 You

Congrats on reaching 10,000 members! I have not been a member here long but I feel this is truely a family! The people here really care and love each other. Anytime someone needs prayer or encouragement they are there. Anytime someone needs to hear it like it is they tell you out of love for each other.

Thank you team members and John for doing everything that you do. You keep us safe and on track. I just think about all the times I have logged on and see a blog that the Lord wanted me to see and learn from. The people here are truely blessings and I hope to bless them in the same way.

I think that one of the main reasons the website is doing so well is because we remember what is most important and that is to put God first. We praise His Holy Name with every chance we get. We give the credit to God.

I agree with B2Y if I was rich or even if I had any money I would gladly repay you for all you do. Again thanks for all that you do.

Nice job and as always I am astounded by the metamorphosis this ministry goes through on a periodic basis.
Birth and then rebirth in ways that only the Spirit could lead.

John, while my experience is very short term I can truly say that the site has become very important to me. All of us who truly believe that we have a holy message and mandate within us cannot help but offer praise for a vehicle like this... . so hard to find. My search may be over and none to soon. My eightieth is upon me next month.
I will make some kind of financial commitment as soon as we resolve some issues personal and family. In the meantime, plan on the growth of arts and crafts. Seriously, thank you, hiswitness
