Rocky McElveen - Wild Men, Wild Alaska
As most of you know (at least those of you who know me... which if you are reading this, you probably are, as most people do not know about this website) I have a huge passion for reading.
It started when I was 13 years old and something just "clicked" in my brain and reading went from being the dread of the world (next to cleaning my room and doing the dishes) to something that now consumes a huge part of my life.
An average month for me is 5,000 - 8,000 pages of reading. A slow month is 3,000 - 5,000 and a good month involves me reading 8,000 and 10,000 pages each month. Simply put, I enjoy reading!
Awhile back and on a whim (a whim because I rarely buy or read religious books) I picked up a book entitled 'Wild Men, Wild Alaska' written by Rocky McElveen, who owns owners of Alaskan-Adventures.
Rocky, the son of an Alaskan missionary and a seminary graduate, was raised in Alaska and knows Alaska's charm and challenges better than anyone. For over twenty years he has been a professional guide in Alaska and has guided folks like President George Bush, Sr.; Franklin Graham, of Samaritan's Purse; General Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager; Major League Baseball player Dave Dravecky; Bob Seiple, President of World Vision; Paster Chuck Swindoll; and Oakland A's pitcher Mike Moore, to name only a few.
I cannot think of any book that has been a book that has spoken to me as a man, about not only life in general, but life as a Christian man. Through the stories of trial, failures, and successes, Rocky hits home with this book!
Because of this, I have gone out and bought an entire case of these books and will be sending them to my father, step-brothers, uncle and nephews.
I have 18 of these books left, and want to get them into the hands of as many men as possible!
As such, the first 18 people who donate at minimum of $10.00 will receive one of these books, in time to put one in your own husbands, sons, or fathers hands for Christmas!
I was able to get a really really really good deal on an entire case, so that is why I am able to pass them along as such a low price. The $10.00 should cover the book of the cost and shipping - that is all that matters to me! Getting this book into as many mens hands as possible is what matters the most to me!
