Taking the good and the bad...
Sometimes we have days that are equally awesome and equally horrible. I suppose I have to be honest and say I do not have a lot of days like that, but today has been one of those days.
On the good side I have had a wonderful morning doing some things I rarely get to do. Plus yesterday I got started decorating my house for Christmas - so that always perks me up a few extra notches as I so love Christmas.
Earlier today I even broke out my Christmas tree from storage and starting setting it up.

I was able to get myself completely covered in frost and little sparkly things!! I also got some lights plugged in and adding some humongous long gold and silver garland.
Unfortunately, part of my day has been scattered between the joys of getting to decorate my house, with the troubles that comes as the owner of the worlds largest Christian Blogging website.
Not only has the website been causing people to not be able to log into the website, which has consumed the part of my workday the last two days, but a member who's blog I responded to got really worked up and that turned nasty. As it usually seems with me, folks tend to take what I say matter-of-factly a bit to personal and that results in people thinking I am either attacking them or being arrogant. As those closest to me here at CB know, it takes a whole lot to get me worked out (and I wasn't today) but when I do get worked out, somebody usually ends up leaving in one way or another. What happened today was not even close to getting me worked up - yet the other person was really really worked up. In the end, I can only attribute it to the age old problem of the internet not being a place where one can see, hear, and feel the attitudes of those they are talking with. For me, it tends to be that when I write stuff that is very clear and precise and without "feelings", people get offended. Rather frustrates me at times.
So, today has been one of those days where I have had to take the good with the bad. I have had to use the good times to counter-balance the bad times.
Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
I think it is very important that we use those times when it is just us and the Lord to not only build a relationship with Him, and to spend time in prayer and supplication, but also to be built up in His strength - for in those times when we come under fire from the evil one and his puppets, or in those times when live is just trying to get us down - it is so very important to remember that we have a strength that surpasses all understanding - strength that is not only physical strength, but rather a peace and rest in Him.
Stand firm on the words of the Lord and His holy prophets and the Holy Scriptures, for the truth is there to lead and guide you in all righteousness and strength of the Lord - which is the power of Jesus Christ.
Blessings,
John B. Abela
