A few days ago I had the honor of writing the second newsletter for ChristianBlog.Com and the main highlight of the newsletter was talking about how awesome it is to be a Christian Blogger right now.
While I was writing the newsletter I found myself stopping and pondering on what is, without a doubt, the most amazing aspect of running the worlds largest Christian blogging website: hearing from people who visit and use the website about how it has touched their lives.
Sometimes the letters I receive just stop me from whatever it is I am doing and makes me realize that everything I have done, it has been for a purpose.
The motto of the ChristianBlog.Com website is a simple - yet profoundly powerful - one: ChristianBlog.Com is a place to be blessed and to bless others!
Sometimes in the day to day mundane of working, I forget that working is still ministry, and ministry is still working. And regardless of which of those the given days responsibilities might be, lives are being touched. People are being blessed. People are blessing others. The motto of the website has come to fruition.
A God Thing:
My father has used a phrase for a number of years that has stuck with me, its a really neat phrase, "a God thing".
You know those times when something just happens and you just know it is God. That is a God thing.
Or maybe when you receive a blessing that you did not expect. That is a God thing.
Sometimes you realize something amazing in the Bible that you had never seen before. That is a God thing.
Every single time that I receive an email, or a private message, or see somebody sends in a testimony about the website, or I read a wall comment about how somebody has grown in the Lord - each and every single one of these is a God thing!
It is a moment in time when God has reached into a persons life and touched them, has made them realize that they are a special person, has made them realize that whether they are writing blogs, or commenting on others blogs, or praying for people, or just trying to make a person smile, that He is there waiting and wanting to touch their life.
Never pass up the opportunity for a Reward!
The rewards for being a Christian blogger in this day and age are huge. Since the ChristianBlog.Com was started a little over five years ago there have been over one-hundred-million pages of the ChristianBlog.Com website that have been viewed. Tens of thousands of blogs have been read by Christians and non-Christians, by people studying the Bible, by people not sure of making a commitment to Christ, by people who have left the Church, by ministers, by professors in both religious and secular educational facilities around the world, by people in every nation in the world that has internet services. The ChristianBlog.Com website has become the leading community-based Christian blogging website in the world for Christians to share their blogs at and where Christians visit to read blogs in a community format. This means that Christians at this website have a truly amazing potential to bless others!
Lives are being touched by those who write blogs.
Lives are being touched by those who read those blogs.
I have seen blogs that were the furthest thing from be a "spiritual blog" touch the lives of people.
I have seen instances where out-of-church Christians have found encouragement to find a new church because of others talking about their out-of-church struggles.
I have seen ministers get a renewed fire deep in the soul because of a blog that they have read posted by a church goer on the other side of the world.
Please do not think that every blog you write needs to be some great in-depth Bible study - yes those are amazing blogs and necessary blogs for those who need to write them and those who need to read them - by the average Christian blogger is just never going to reach a point in their lives where they are writing what I call "hyper spiritual blogs".
The average Christian blogger just needs to blog about their average Christian life. Christian bloggers can so easily make an impact in the lives of their family, their church, themselves, and others that they will never meet in person while on this planet. It could be a funny thing that happens, it could be a verse on a daily bible calendar that touches you, it could be something your spouse or child or parent tells you that just touches you, it could be about a person at the park that you had a chance to talk with about the Lord, or it could just be about how much school sucked because the teacher was going on and on about something that goes completely against what you believe in - yet you hang in there because you know that He makes you strong!
Every single blog published has the potential to touch another persons life - you just never know - and those are the true Rewards of being a Christian Blogger!
For Christ's Ministry,
