I'm not sure exactly what you're going through, but you have to keep in mind Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God. Perhaps the not planning ahead can be a learning tool for you and it will teach you to begin to let God guide your path in what you're doing.

Hey blessed23,
I'm not going through anything I let whatever the picture I find and the Holy Spirit lead the course of the devotionals I write... not my live or emotions.
I totally agree that our failures to plan ahead when things fail should be a learning tool for us. If we do not learn from our mistakes, we never grow up past the "don't touch the pan, it's hot!" stage of life, eh!
Thanks for the comment.

to quote - "That alone should be enough to not have to say "thankfully however, there is redemption"... just stop being a fool." PROFOUND!!! Interesting matter indeed. Thanks for sharing this thought provoking blog John! I love it when things make my gray matter wake up and tremble

Over analysis is the downfall of failures sometimes too, eh 2G!
Sometimes the obvious is sitting right there in front of us, while we are off pondering the whys & ifs.

Absolutely! And the Word is certainly full of those examples. Like Smith Wigglesworth said..."Just believe!"

I love your blogs and the way you write them out! Sometimes the bible is so simplistic and blunt, then, we go ahead complicating it
By philosophizing it.

If we are honest with ourselves, we "dig our own hole" which we fall into, more often than we think. Thanks for the reminder!

The "fool" part reminded me of Pro. 26:11,12. And the fact that this verse is used by Peter in 2 Pet. 2: 21,22. What explains it for me is the "wise in his own eyes" part. Some just don't give up human, or fleshly wisdom, and depend on Godly wisdom, occasionally, even His children. Even with that acknowledgement, and my depending upon God for guidance, I sometimes still think I know more than God, and have to learn the hard way.
If you need encouragement for those times of stupidity and messing up, just contact me, I have plenty of experience!

I am convinced that "the hard way" is a direct result of our failure to spend enough time listening to the small still voice of the Holy Spirit in our lives!
...if only I would not have to learn things the hard way so often...

Interesting use of the rusted rust-oleum can with Prov. 13:16.
I note you walk through the difference of the wise man and the fool in planning (pre-use of known knowledge) and then in the failure.
The Proverb never says anything about success or failure but in the use of knowledge and the learning and applying or reapplying learned knowledge form both failure or success.
The fools mistake and or continued mistakes may be there for all to see.
While no one may notice the wise man evaluating and reevaluating his knowledge and gained new knowledge.
Side note: I have to rebuild a deck the previous owner built - with weather resisting wood nailed with, now, rusting nails and bolts. Forethought, knowledge and planning anyone.
Good to read a blog from you.

Yeah, the whole blog spanned from the idea of the rust can. Not exactly sure how I ended up with what I wrote, but it started with the idea of a rusty can that says no-rust - lol
I think your part about nobody noticing the wise man and how he lives his life is a very important thing, at least it is in my life. I have tried very hard to quietly and privately watch those men who I am thinking of letting be a mentor in my life, to see if they are men of good character, men who seek after the wisdom of God, who evaluate their own life often.
If I don't, and I just let anybody I come across be a mentor in my life, well, that just makes me a fool.
Blessings,
John

Speaking of things not working out - lol...
Today I was working on an update of the CB website... the next phase of the Blog Creation system, which involved update the master database for blog comments and replies.
I had everything worked out... it was going to take about 10 minutes to update the website...
I started updating the website... than... bam!! I had forgotten something very very important.
Arrrggggghhhhh... that one thing I forgot resulted in an extra hour of work and an hour of the website pretty much not working at 100%.
So, talking about the failure of foresight... yeah, I know that one pretty well this morning!

I would think that the outcome of decision or work depends on whom you are trying to please. If you try to please fools you will be a fool and if you try to please those that do appreciated, your success will double. Example: Paul says somewhere that the gospel is a pleasant bouquet aroma of life to some and to others who are perishing, a sticking corpse or fish washed on the beach dead, smelly...
And sometime the best way to have success is to trim our work to those who will appreciate. Paul had the most difficult time trying to convice the Jew or his message and then he just told them that they were hopeless and he turned to the gentiles, which was God had in mind. Now if you are doing a work that seem to be going no place, give God time and he will give you the people who will see your work differently...
Hang in there, it took Thomas Edision 1000 prototype light bulb that failed until he came up with one that lit continually...
Many blessings.

billyb, Reminds me of that prayer I heard someone mention years ago...something like LORD so far, I haven't lost my temper, haven't gotten anxious, etc, etc and then ends with - but I need your help LORD...I haven't gotten out of bed yet!
John, I watched your notes every little bit with your struggles early this morning...I had faith you would conquer it before it conquered you
Have a great day everyone! 2G

John, I wish I could tell you it gets better with age (the learning and not forgetting a lesson) but my experience has been that it doesn't...what does get better is the shorter lapse of time before we get running to Him for the remedy. I am really working on, and seeing small degrees of improvement, just staying close to Him every minute. Maybe that comes with the waning of physical strength, but I think it is available to all ages and is just a matter of the Potter finally getting the clay to a condition He can use.
And that you saw the picture, then proceeded to demonstrate it in your work...maybe He is helping you write your blogs more than you know! Blessings, Possum
