Go somewhere and play,she said.
Go on Get out of my way
What's wrong with you, you broke ,she said
Do like other kids ,and go play

But mother will you play a game with me
Like we used to when I was small
Please come and play "Candyland" or cards
Will you push me in the swing . Let us color! Can we draw?
Pictures like we used to .
Member the flower ? I wrote ,I Love you
You taped it on the fridge.
You smiled !
I was happy!
Mother don't you love me?
Did my 5th birthday make you snappy?

If I go out side ,like yesterday
Will you leave me out. Never call me in
I really want to stay in with you
No one likes me out there. You're my only friend.

I don't have time to play ,she said
I've got something else to do
Go play with your toys or watch tv.
You are on my last nerve. You're bothering me

I choose to go sit on the porch,but I'm sad
If my mother does not like me. And I get no love from dad
Who will listen when I'm hurting? Who will hug me when I'm scared?
Who will scare away the monsters? Who'll remind me that they care?

So now ,on the porch in the dark I sit
nobodys out but me
I go inside ,because I'm cold
mothers sleeping on the couch I see

I bend to kiss my mothers head
I wipe my tears then go to bed
My scary room. It's windows shake
Dark closet monsters lurk and wait

I must be brave cause no one cares
I must not cry. I wipe my tears
I get in bed.I tuck me in
I pray to God please send a friend
Then my stomach stops hurting. My sadness does leave
Gods whispering he loves me . Now I can go to sleep.
