How much does your church spend on youth?

When Jesus was age 11 he went to the temple. He was recognised at that age to be of God and to have great discernment of the scriptures. What happens at your church business meeting. Is youth last on the agenda and left with 2 minutes time to expand. The youth are the future of the church. Jesus always had time for them. The time and money spent on youth today determines the future of the church. Let us pray more for them and invest more time to reach them and talk about what we can do to bring them in. What age should they become members? Are they important to you?
I love the youth, all the time I have spent for them I have gained 100 fold more from them and God. Please I urge you consider the youth it breaks my heart to see what is going on in churches today.

God Bless You, and all the youth in your area. Please Jesus implant a desire in the hearts of the youth to enquire and visit a church and implant in the church people an awareness of the importance of youth so that they receive them regardless of the way they look, dress or talk. If you don't want dirty stables don't keep horses. We need to recognise the importance of the young people even if they break things and dirty the church. Why should the young people come to church, become christians and then train to lead and get involved. Got this from a website "minnesota toolkit for giving".

10. Gain Job Experience
Volunteer experience looks great on a resume. Also, some of the work you do could lead to a job doing similar work.

9. Improve Your Health and Self-Esteem
Volunteering to help others has been shown to reduce stress, give you hope and boost your self-esteem.

8. Meet Real Community Needs
Helping people learn to read, or get basic food, clothing, shelter or furniture makes a huge difference! Whether the project is planting a tree or tutoring children, the community will look and feel better.

7. Gain Entrance to College
Colleges and universities today are looking for applicants who have more than high grades. They are looking for well-rounded people who have volunteered to make a difference in their communities.

6. Meet New People and Establish Friends, Connections and References
When you work alongside others, you really get to know them and become friends with them. Also, adults at organizations where you volunteer can connect you to great opportunities and provide you with a useful reference for a job or college.

5. Gain New Skills and Develop Talents
Whether you enjoy working with computers, children or seniors, any interest you have can be developed through volunteering.

4. Spread Positive Energy and Hope
Just like random acts of kindness, when you volunteer, your energy and efforts affect the whole community in a positive way.

3. Make the World a Better Place
If you see problems in your community that you feel need addressing, do something about them. By volunteering, you do make a difference and help make the world a better place.

2. Personal Growth
By taking on new tasks you’ll learn more about people and life.

1. It’s Fun!
Volunteering will bring laughter and smiles into your life

To train we need to get them to:
1. watch what we do, and talk about it,
2. watch and help us, and talk about it
3. do what we do, and talk about it
4. do what they think, and talk about it
5. Do what they do.

God Bless You all.

Very true!! Our youth are so very important! I am so thankful I am in a church that values the youth. We are new and still looking for a Youth Pastor, but one will be given to us by God in due time. We have a wonderful children's program as well. It does my heart good to know that our church will supplement what my baby learns at home!! Starting in the fall, my hubby and I might. . . after much prayer. . . . begin working w/ the youth as volunteers, we have experience, but we must wait and see if God has this planned for us.

God bless you Ali!!

I agree! I'm in a church which is very youth-oriented...
We have a giving program called Kingdom-Builders and nearly all of our projects are in regards to youth. In addition to building up our youth program, we sent every high school junior and senior on a missions trip...they don't have to write letters to fund it...Kingdom Builders raises the money to send them. Our church runs about 2,100 people on average so as you can see, we're not talking about one or two kids here.

We are currently raising money for four youth centers... not places to "hang out" although there certainly is fellowship! These are places set up to help our youth grow and develop as Christians and prepare them for Christian service. We're building one in Russia for teen orphans in transistion into the "real world", we're building one in the inner-city in conjunction with a ministry which is already there and we're building one at our satellite campus and THEN we are building our own. God is good. We just gave the money to the Russian Youth Center and building has begun. Praise God!

Blessings!

That's great but when you go to the next business meeting or check the next AGM accounts see how much time and money are spent on them. It is so exciting to see God at work in churches, thanks for your very encouraging comments ladies. I would say that the Church I go to is very youth friendly with a youth pastor and tons going on. God Bless you.
