Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”- Matthew 19:14
I am watching my little darling sleep and it makes me think. How peaceful he is. He has no worries. He is completely reliant on me and knows I will care for him. He believes that I will take care of his every need. He has not yet been disapointed by the sinful world we live in. He trusts me completely and loves to be around me.
If only I had that kind of faith in my Heavenly Father. He cares for me far more than I could ever dream of loving my baby and yet I don't have nearly the trust that my child has in me. It's true that when we grow we must cast away childish things, but we really need to keep the faith like a child. Our Lord will never leave us, never forsake us, and will ALWAYS care for our needs. We must trust in Him fully and completely - not to give us everything we want, but to give us everything we need, in His good timing, under His perfect will.
I know that I have a long way to go, but I will start by surrenduring my will day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, to the perfect will of my gracious Father in Heaven. I will pray to Him for all my needs. I provide well for my child, why would my Father not provide for me?
He's got me covered and I have nothing to fear.
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!- Matthew 7:11
