Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.- Colossians 3:15
I often hear people say they don't need church to believe in God. I used to feel that way too, but now I know better. Now when I hear people say this I want so badly to pull them into my church to see what I now see.
My church is my sanctuary. It is my place of refuge. It is a place of peace. I have learned more about God and truth than I have in my whole life. I have recieved more support at my church than I have in my whole life. These people, each with their own special talents and personalities have truly been Christ's hands and feet. They love me and I love them. These people encourage, uplift, mourn with, show concern for, and celebrate with me in all life's ups and downs and have taught me how to do the same.
They are my family.
We don't always agree on everything, but we do agree on the fact that Jesus Christ is our Savior and He loves us, so we are to love others. When I first joined the church I know I took so much more than I gave. But this wonderful body allowed me to do that. They gave me the job of the appendix or tonsils. Now I know that I need to take my turn as a more important part. My family relies on me. Each one of us have a purpose, big or small. The body doesn't work without each part.
I want to say thank you to my church family for showing me what it really means to be part of the body of Christ. For allowing me to be a nosehair once in awhile, and lifting me up to be an arm when necessary. I love you family - thank you! I only hope to be able to pass on what I have learned to others so they can be part of Christ's body as well. I want people to know how important church is to them, and how important they can be to church.
I love you family! Thank you!
