It is not loose goosey ... it is hold things loosely

THE WAY OF THE SPIRIT

The way of the Spirit differs from the ways of life. The ways of life are often rigid . . . responsibility, duty, and pressure. We understand from a western mind-set, very concrete. The way of the Spirit is fluid as typified in water and oil; therefore we must remain moveable not rigid. We must hold all things loosely. We must receive and ponder . . . holding it loosely until we really understand.

God told me . . .God showed me . . . This is what is going to happen . . . Although some or all of what is seen may be of God, it is still a fact that the ways of God are not our ways and our interpretations can often be skewed. I can assuredly tell you that your mental image probably won’t look anything like the actual fulfillment! We indeed see through a glass darkly. We operate from our current understanding and time zone; God works in the eternal, not necessarily the immediate.

When we consciously or unconsciously focus on the natural, we often miss what is really happening. For example, when Peter spoke the words of the prophet Joel on Pentecost, he was speaking of what Joel prophesied many years before.

As we learn to see the outworking of “this is that which was spoken . . .”i and apply this to prophetic words we have received, we will learn to more clearly track in the spirit and work with the Spirit. We will often only recognize the fulfillment of the Lord’s word as it manifests fully.

How do you learn this? First you learn to hold all things loosely and then you wait. You ponder these things in your heart until God unfolds direction and empowerment. In other words, first you do nothing, then you do nothing, then you do nothing . . . until revelation comes. I have held some prophetic words for years. Only now, as I am moving in the reality of them, can I see that indeed “this is that which was spoken . . .”

Prophetic words proclaim God's desired end. We must allow Him to work in our lives to bring us to the place needed for their fulfillment.

Remember, the greater the word, the hotter the fire! May we be those who stay the course as God prepares us for the fulfillment of His desired end.

Thanks for an interesting blog, with a message that I understand in part. Some of it, however, is beyond my experience so far. hopefully in the future. - bibleguy64

Thank you bibleguy, I too hope it will be a part of your future. Among other things, prophetic words confirm, comfort, and instruct. I was in Tennessee the other day and while we stood praying with a friend, her prayer changed from prayer to prophecy. I wish I had a hand free to grab a phone and record it. The word gave instruction and direction.

We release God's power as we speak His Word ... the written word and the prophetic word. The enemy has worked and succeeded in stopping this gift of the Spirit. To many who are crying out to God, it would be as a cup of cold water or breath of fresh air to strengthen and empower them to go forward.

My prayer has always been "God if it is from you I want it! I don't care what anyone thinks about it." May all believers take a similar stand. He is faithful to confirm what is of Him and answer that heart cry.

Blessings,
Barb
