Far too many people are comfortable living without "the comforter"
The question was, is and remains; why can't we all get along?

Prophetic Words -- God's desired end

Prophetic words are signposts!

Have you ever received a personal prophetic word? It is exciting to hear the declaration. Perhaps it involves how God will use you in ministry, or the next steps you need to take to advance in Him.

Prophetic words declare God's desired end. Our cooperation determines the fulfillment of those words. He will bring us through whatever is needed to prepare us for that final purpose, if we cooperate!

Prophetic words open the way before us. They release the power of God. They also allow us to war a good warfare.
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare.i

Sometimes the word is the advance notice of a season or event. Other times, the word is a pronouncement of something that is already in motion. With the word, we recognize God's hand at work. The word becomes a confirmation and encouragement to continue.

In fact, we may not recognize what is happening until the Lord sends a word. Whatever the timing may be, we must allow God to bring us to the place of usefulness.

When God gives a word of declaration, it may involve more than we realize. I am still walking out what was declared several years ago using four small words . . ."get ready to travel" . Those words launched thousands of miles of travel on trains, planes and automobiles.
Within a few weeks I would be on my first-ever airplane trip. I would not only travel on one plane, but five planes in a three-day period! The airline was Delta, which means change. I was on every size plane that Delta operated, including the very large plane used for overseas travel.

Prophetic words are signposts. They describe what God is doing.

Remember, although God speaks the word, fulfillment is not guaranteed. There is a necessary RSVP , which you send as you yield to God's process.

Prophetic words announce God's timing. The question is, what will you do with this window of opportunity?

It is going to be interesting in reading the responses to this one. However, you have accurately shown the difference in a Holy Spirit manifestation of the gift of prophecy and in the anointing in the office of prophet.

Thank you sister.

Blessings,
Tch

Hmmmm ... I didn't expect a stir, but we will see. There is truly a difference in the two that is often confused. In the book "The Elijah Task" by John and Paula Sandford he notes that the prophets are working in the unseen so that others can prophecy (or something to that effect). Something to think about.

Much of the work in the office of a prophet involves intercession and ... suffering. Perhaps if that was recognized, less people would be anxious for the title!

Barb

Contrary to popular belief, the office of prophet is like any other calling/office. You have to 'give in' to it and be discipled. As far as I'm concerned, no one in their right mind wants this office! It's very lonely at times.
I love prophetic words! Sometimes they come through a direct word from the Holy Spirit, and other times from someone you know. For me, the really exciting ones always seem to come from a stranger!
I've lived to regret any time i didn't act on prophecy too. That's the only downer. You have to use nothing but the Holy Spirit for discernment or you'll shoot yourself in the foot! Yes, I have limped a lot over the years after using my head for listening instead of my spirit!
Good timing on this subject, Barb! Really good!

Thanks secondrider ... glad the timing was good. I agree that some of the most exciting words come from strangers. They have no knowledge about us whatsoever.

I love to prophecy to someone I just met. It is unbiased and can be very profound. Prophecy is calling forth of a future and/or destiny possible, which flows freely when there are no preconceived ideas or judgments. God sees the possible with His grace and our cooperation!

Blessings,
Barb

Yes, I love to receive prophetic words for some are so accurate and can even speak to my heart about my situations and my future. Indeed it even encourages me and even bless me greatly.

Thanks for sharing, Sister Barb

Blessings always

Thank you sister Hwa. Prophetic words are indeed refreshing and encouraging. I remember a word I received during a particularly difficult time. I was withdrawn and very hesitant to subject myself to prophetic prayer ministry because I felt so beaten down.

The word was "God loves to walk with you in the arboretum". The minister had no idea that I had spend many hours, over many years, walking with God in what I called "my personal Garden of Eden" in the North Woods of Michigan's Upper Penninsula (an arboretum like setting). The word released my spirit to soar once again!

Sister, you have the gift of prophecy and I encourage you to be bolder in speaking what God places on your heart!

Blessings,
Barb

Hi, Barb. This is so clear and well expressed. I often feel the holy spirit stirring to call out, "Listen!". Why would he be silent other than we are not tuned in. God gave me prophecy over my life, to me alone in the shower. It was ten days after my husband died. Many of those things came to pass and others are still ahead, but I had to hold on to his words. I buried them deep into my heart. God even told me to write them down. I did. jd

Thank you jd for sharing your experience. Prophetic words from another can be powerful, but the word of the Lord to our spirit has a unique power to sustain and establish. It is indeed very important to hold onto them until their fulfillment, as you are obviously doing. May the Lord bring all His plans and purposes for you to fulfillment.

Blessings,
Barb

Thank you Barb, this was great. My problem in the past...until pretty recently, actually, has been being willing to step into the "window of opportunity." Oh how I've delayed. No longer! Also, I have to do my work too! I've been guided to show people how "ascension", "2012" and scripture are in alignment and I am a BABY in the Word. Time to get to work. Blessings and thank you for your wisdom and sharing! Peace

Thank you Theresa for your comment. I am happy to hear of your newfound intention to move ahead on the path God has ordained for you. Commit your ways to the Lord and He will direct your steps. (Psalms 37:5, 23; Proverbs 16:9)

Welcome to the site :welcome:

Blessings,
Barb
