God moves us from death to life with the new birth. He moves us from being a natural man to being a spiritual man by giving us His Spirit.i He moves us into paths that He has prepared specifically for us.
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them . . .ii
Oh, the joy of moving . . . God I just want to grow in you!
God not only hears the cry of your heart, but also sends an advance team to help with the move.
Possible advance team registry:
Did you say these things were not in your plans? You probably had a picture of what you thought growth would look like. You have seen people, ministries, and gifting that you admire. You may even have the gifting that suits the ministry you picture.
BUT GOD . . . You are probably familiar with the verse For the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.iii
The truth is that God has already moved you in Christ . He moved you from the kingdom of this world into His kingdom. He has seated you with Christ in heavenly places. Everything relating to the old you has passed away; He has made all things new.iv
Project relocation has been successful. The difficulty of the move is getting you to realize where you are!
Your center of gravity is no longer this earth. Your gravitation is now heavenward. All that God will do and allow in your life is a means to bring you heavenward. You must become heavenward in your thinking, in your perspective, and in your view of reality.
ENTER THE ADVANCE TEAM
Everything was coming along just the way you wanted. You can see the goal ahead, the light at the end of the tunnel.
You didn’t see it coming ... the train slammed into your plans.
Pushed back, side tracked, perhaps even bumped onto another track!
God often relocates us in just this way. Recognizing the advance team makes the move less painful. It allows us a glimpse into a plan that is unfolding.
Recognize that even if you feel boxed in perhaps ...
YOU ARE MERELY IN GOD’S SHIPPING CRATE!
