Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (New International Version 1984) - Hebrews 10:25

"all the more as you see the day approaching". Why is it that we fail to believe this? Cancelling church is a modern trend today. And it doesn't seem to take much of an inconvenience to do that. Even the Super bowl, a holiday weekend. Some snow, or some rain. When one has a job they work, they can not use these excuses, as they do when it comes to "meeting together" at church.

Why do we "meet together"? That is another great point. It is one that the religious elite of Jesus day never really understood. It is the same today. Politicians do so mostly for selfish gain, at least many do. We hear them recognize and mention "God" a lot more, in an election year. Their record of "meeting together", and how often they do, may expose that.

Really, why do we? We go and meet together to worship and praise, a God who searches the heart, and all the hidden things we have inside, that can not be hid from Him. A famous line that the psychologist will use, "How does that make you feel?" Lets face it. A psycholgist can be wrong, and I do hope I got the name right. But, God knows the answer, without our telling Him.

"Encourage one another". Personally I do not believe the biggest majority have any idea just exactly what that means. To most, it is gonna mean, pat them on the back, and tell them how great they are. But don't hold them accountable, or talk about anybodys faults, even to the point of letting them say anything they want about God. And some of these spineless people, are supposed leaders in the church. They will use sugar to catch anything or anybody. Wolves. Snakes, vipers, goats. Even let them teach, and preach.

When the Corinthian church were instructed to impose discipline upon one who was practicing immorality, tell me, what were they "encouraging" this person to do? Yes, we have forgotten what we are to "encourage" each other for. It is not to stay in sin, and to spread false teaching, I can say without any remorse at all. Nor is it to tell everybody how perfect we are, and how devilish they are. It is to confess our faults to one another, and pray for one another, "encourage one another", for BOTH, physical and spiritual healing, wholeness, in body, soul, and spirit.

What is wrong with the church? If you are not meeting together, there, and all the more as you see the day approaching, and really and truly encouraging one another, then you are one of the things wrong with her. Jesus Christ said His bride would be spotless, blameless. Debate with HIM about that. And be real, because HE is. God Bless.
