You ever get blindsided? I do. Jesus said to be 'wise as serpents', and some do it more natural I suppose. I don't know at the people I have confided in, believing them a friend, a brother or sister even, only to find that they may be doing that serpent thingy. And, that serpent may even be a poisonous one!
Then there are those who may pat you on the back, and show concern as you share something, but they only want to spread around the gossip when they leave you, and you just fed them some. Being a small business owner for a number of years, I really got a big dose of these type of people.
I shared once how that I served with a fellow deacon who was a policeman for a while. He shared with me once, how that he had seen so much done in secret, by some folk, church folk even, that he had a problem keeping the right attitude toward some folk. I suppose that we all have had a good taste of that, in some form or another, in our walk as well.
We wonder if there will ever be true justice in this world. Well, not in the present one, but in one to come. In the movie 'Grace card', one of the actors in his role says, 'It is not justice we need, or even want. It is grace.' That is true. It is encouraging to know that God extends grace, to us, in this present age. But we should never forget, that a day of accounting is coming, for all of us.
And, let us also not forget, to not trample upon this grace, and the blood shed to cleanse and wash us, by our Lord Jesus Christ. The results of doing that, are nothing that anyone, even our enemies, should be desired. And, please, for Christ' sake, do NOT pat anyone on the back, who is doing so. You are harming them, you are not helping them, or showing them any favor, if you do.
It is always 'today', scripture teaches. God bless. Maranatha.
