Rightly dividing the word of truth

This subject is very near to my heart. We live in a world of much confusion, about everything. First off, the scripture tells us to study, to show ourselves APPROVED UNTO GOD. 2nd Tim. 2:15. That is my main concern, and I know that it is all others who serve the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Any subject I bring up here, I would be more than glad to research and discuss what the scripture says about it. I would welcome that. Any other true workman will feel the same.

Many beliefs about what scripture says, is added, or takes away from scripture. These, we should be concerned about, and point out. Anyone who wants to rightly divide the word of truth, will do so, and wants to.

Sometimes, though, we get into areas that hurt others feelings, and perhaps sometimes they need to be. I read a lot of blogs that are written by people who do not see any church out there, that is worthy of their attending. Sorry, I have to question why they would believe such a thing, and the real motive behind it.

I believe that the institution of the church, both physical, and spiritual, has proven to be ordained of God. I have been a member of such a church since I was 12. I did not always agree with everything done, or taught, but have never thought that God wanted me to leave such a church, for good. Having said that, some churches have turned to apostasy, and away from the truth. They ordain and approve of same sex lifestyles. Even including their clergy. There is absolutely nothing, anywhere, in scripture, which is the canon the church goes by, (should), that would approve of such practice. We can settle that point in this blog and comments, if one feels that it does approve, using scripture.

Now, I can wear a suit and tie to church, and I am the same person toward God that I would be, if I did not. Why some feel that the clothes one wears makes them a different person, in the eyes of God, or the saints, is beyond me. I know many who wear the best they have, a suit and tie, who are very real. Most came out of the World War 2 generation. They wore a soldiers uniform fighting a world war, and they do the same in their attitude towards how they dress for church. To criticize and mock such as these just because they do is absurd. Their very lives are witness to their faith in Jesus Christ. Sorry if that offends, it is just time someone said it.

Can someone wear a tee-shirt and jeans, and be real? Of course they can. But they have no God-given right at all, to condemn those wearing the suits and ties either. God sees the heart of both. Neither one will sneak anything past God. The local church has people who are hypocrites, and those who are not. So does christianblog.com, among its membership. So, are these folks gonna leave here too?

The local church has false teachers, and teachings, being presented. So does christianblog.com, here. Why do you condemn them, then, and refuse membership in the local church, and yet are one here, and it also has the very same kind of people and same kind of problems, within membership?

I have found that in the local churches, when scripture is presented, it will do the same as here, it will accomplish all that God purposes for it. All will not believe, and accept it, all the time, and that happens everywhere, including here.

I am grateful for this site. I contribute faithfully to it. I do the same at the local church. One can do both. I believe they also should, as that workman, that needeth not to be ashamed, anywhere, doing so. I just wanted to share that. God Bless, in Christ.

Thank you and God bless you for your messages. I am a child of God and brother to Christ. If people cant find a church start one. If the bible is your text book your education will be well rounded.
Christ has been woking on me hard to get the word out. My church has four members and Jesus is our Pastor. The pulpit is our hearts and He speaks through the Word. Pray for us as we further our development in Christ, if you plesase, I know it would help alot.

First off, welcome to the site here. I read your biography, and we have a lot in common, as far as where we came from, that pit of sin and depravity. Four members are good if Jesus Christ is in the midst. I was raised in the country, so I prefer the rural churches to the bigger city ones. Not sure where they gathered but it says they were all in 'one place', beginning Acts 2. Verse 6 says a multitude came together. Then verse 41 says 'the same day' about three thousand were added. So, they had big gatherings, and small ones, and the Lord added daily to the church.

Thank you for reading and commenting. God Bless the church there where you are.

if the "Greatest Generation" thinks hard enough, they will remember that they wore a coat and tie to work, picnics, ball games, and all kinds of events, besides church. People dressed more formally back then, in general. -bibleguy64

Not many left. I know a few still. I suppose we were raised different, the ones I knew in my part of the country, worked where they got sweaty and dirty, farms, factories, and such, so they wore overalls and work clothes then. Come Sunday though, and they wore that suit and tie. they were not out to show a designer suit, or nothing like that, but they dressed up in the best they could get.

The two I know now wear the same suit, just the tie changes. Mostly honorary deacons now, but the members and families they had charge of love them dearly, and will until they are passed on to that better place.

I know what most mean when they speak of wearing the suits and ties. But, I also know a lot of folks who do, and they are some of the best christians I have ever known. It may not be designer clothes, but they make effort to give their Lord the very best they can wear. They do the same in their service to Him. It was time they were mentioned.

If you ever get out this way, let me know, I will introduce to some, and you will be blessed. I don't know about 'formal', the ones I knew, and still know, but they are very serious about a lot that many are not now.

Thank you for reading and commenting brother.God Bless.

Thank you sir for the welcome. Our struggles have been many but I put Christ in everything. Our church is informal and all comers are welcome. Our numbers have swelled to seven. HaHa Praise the Lord. We were but sinners and He saved us and is still shaping us daily. Man do we have our problems, but by the grace of God we maintain our faith in Christ. He has saved me from so mutch evil that I have to testify that Christ saved me. I'm probably the best bad example I know. But Christ granted me forgiveness and has allowed me, throgh Him, to influence many in His name. Praise God.
And as for the suit and tie. I realy think that if a person wants to get dressed up to go see God The Father and His Son, let em. People try so hard to please the eye of others when they should please the eyes of God! We should probably all go in sack cloth and ashes brothers, on are bellies begging Christ for forgiveness.

I agree with the sackcloth and ashes, and also about the suit and ties. One can serve and please God, in either. If that either, is done from the heart that is, and sincerely. God Bless.
