The Cross: The Power of God, and the Wisdom of God

1st Cor. 1:22-24: "For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness: 24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God." I can't count the times I have asked God 'Don't You care', and 'Why'? And every single time, God simply reminds me of the cross, upon which He died.

Like the Jews we want a sign, something that we can see, or touch, something miraculous. Or, we seek after wisdom, that will answer all of our many theories. Doesn't God care that we suffer, both physically in our bodies, and about all of the evil which is in the world, that just keeps growing? Does God really love us? Why doesn't God do something?

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life."

This is how we see and know that God cares. This is how God proves His love for us. This, is what God did, for all who will just believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. Everlasting life does not come to those who must prove to God they are worthy. Not a single verse in scripture tells us that. Not one in context.

Everlasting life is given to those who will believe in Jesus Christ . He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Only those deceived and deceiving will add-on to that, and in doing rob from Jesus Christ. It was Jesus Christ who took the penalty for our sins. Only those who are humble and broken enough to accept the full redemption that Jesus Christ alone provides, are accepted of God the Father, or worthy of approaching Him.

The cross proves how much God loves "the world". The cross also proves how much God hates sin, see what happened there, to the ONLY sinless ONE to ever grace this earth. He was beaten and punished beyond recognition, Isa. 52:14. And yet, "with His stripes we are healed ", Isa. 53:5. The LORD "laid on Him the iniquity of us all ", Isa. 53:6.

You want to have access to the "power of God"? Do you want to learn and understand the "wisdom of God"? Then whether great or small, you need to fully understand and learn about the cross, upon which Christ Jesus our Lord, God's Son, died. It is only there that you will understand, either, your 'worth', or, your 'worthiness'.

Our 'worth' was such that "God gave His only begotten Son." Our 'worthiness' is such that God would have to. Do you really understand that? To find the 'wisdom of God', we have to see and understand about all God did through the cross of Christ Jesus. To access the 'power of God' we have to go there individually and seek God's Mercy there.

Who among us can? Any of 'the world', who will believe in Jesus Christ, Gods Son. If you are searching, or are troubled, and you are truly hungry and thirst for God, go there. You will have access to everything offered of God, through Jesus Christ, His Son. Jesus Christ is both the author and the finisher of our faith. Heb. 12:2.

You know what is so sad, tragic, and yet revealing of our modern world and some of the modern churches of today? Their ears are dull of hearing about the cross of Jesus Christ. Only a few glory in it, I am one of them. The flesh will fail, only through the cross of Christ Jesus, will we persevere and prevail.

God opened the heart of Himself to the world, scripted from the heart of Himself 1st John 4;14-16 "We have seen and can testify that the Father has sent the Son to be Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God keeps in union with him and he with God. So we know and believe in the love God has for us ." Thanks for the topic, that is the only topic that even let any of us to even see that there even is a topic . Sincerely,Tim

Thanks Silverpen. All other religions, it is what humans do. In Christianity, it is what God does. Major difference. Thanks for the comment, and the rec. God Bless Sister.

Amen and amen brother, We must preach the Christ of grace and forgiveness. We must preach unmerited grace. This is the central message of the Gospel, the message of Christ. There is no work that we do, no righteousness, no purity that can save us. If there is any goodness in us, it is only by His empowering and there is nothing of which we can boast. I wrote this in response to a friend recently:
Life is all about choices. Scripture declares that all of us are sold to the flesh and sin and does this even after we are saved. It exhorts us to fight the good fight and run the good race casting aside all that hinders. I praise God that He has saved me and has renewed my mind. This renewed mind has made me keenly aware of the weakness of my flesh and what comes naturally to me: to love self before Him and my neighbours: to take the easy way out by lying and cheating; to gratify my fleshly desire, to lust, to covet, to envy, to be puffed up, and to be self-serving This is the curse of Adam. These are all natural to me.

Even when I was unsaved, by the conscience that He gives all men, I have been pricked in times of lucidness but my carnal mind, sold to the flesh, cast them aside to make excuses and ignore, causing me to be blind because I was dead in sin.

Praise God that He drew me and by His power enabled what poor faith I have to receive His gift of Salvation to acknowledge and confess my sin and the wretchedness of my poor estate. Praise God that by the renewing of the Holy Spirit, I was made new and in that instant, born again into the light, that which I found so easy to ignore and make light became abhorrent and intolerable and that which is natural in my flesh, became unnatural in my mind. Dear brother, until I see the Lord face-to-face and I am given a new body, I know I still reside in this tent and the nature of my tent will war against the righteousness of Christ. Praise Him who preserves, His strong hand upholds me and by His power, I overcome, making choices contrary to my fallen nature. By that same power, I act. His Spirit has taught me that it is only by surrendering to Him in the acknowledgment of my weakness that I am made strong, that in the fixing of my eyes upon He who does a good work in me am I able. Truly, his yoke is easy because He bears my yoke with me daily. This is my testimony and I share it with you through the love of Christ who empowers.
Great blog brother, words of truth that builds up and does not tear down.

In His Love, Arisen

Thanks for your comment Arisen. I am convinced more than ever we need to get back to glorifying God, through what was done through the cross of Jesus Christ. True humility is found there. Gods love. Gods judgement on sin. What God was willing to do to save us.

I am also convinced that satan is trying desperately to draw us away from it. His methods are many. I hope and pray I am not a part in that. God Bless Brother.
