Good Advice To Those You Advise.
Advising my soul.
The walking bibles i've known and heard about stayed in relationship with those finding them study-able - from the neophyte to the glorified messengers of revelation (mistaken for angels). 'Yea, i think it meet, as long as i am in this tabernacle, to stir you up (my soul) by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly you must put off this your tabernacle, even as your Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed you. Moreover i will endeavor that you may be able after your decease to have others have these things always in remembrance (bible mnemonics)'. 'That good thing which was committed unto you, keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in you'.
Being led by the Spirit, as far as who and when; do your follow-up work with joy, with regard to those advisees and disciples of Christ. 'Preaching Jesus, warning, and teaching, (yourself and others my soul), in all wisdom; that i may present you perfect in Christ Jesus: Where-unto i also labour, striving according to His working, which worketh in me mightily'.
Know that what you have is being caught, whenever an advisee reveals his commitment to becoming a living letter (Forasmuch as you are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of your heart); for as a living letter does, a living letter is. You will see him bearing his own burden and being read by others to their improvement.
'The God of all comfort; Who comforteth me in all my tribulation, that you (my soul) may be able to comfort others which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith you are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in you, so your consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether you are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which i also suffer: or whether you be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And my hope for you is stedfast, knowing, that as you partake of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation'.
If your suffering is your own fault (my soul), work with an adviser in the sight of an advisee so that this most important process can be caught. 'If you are overtaken in a fault, i which am spiritual, will restore you (my soul) in the spirit of meekness; considering myself, lest i also be tempted. Share your burden with others and help share theirs (confess your faults one to the other), and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if you think yourself to be something, when you are nothing, you deceive yourself. But prove your own work, and then you shall have rejoicing in yourself alone, and not in another. For thus you shall bear your own burden and yet help bear one another's burdens'.
Listen, my soul, i am trusting God to work in you and in the lives of your advisees. 'That the Great Shepherd of you (his sheep), through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in His sight, and I beseech you, suffer the word of exhortation'. 'Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Even as it is meet for me to think this of you, because i am in you and you have your advisees in me' in unity.
'God gave you increase. So then neither am i that plants any thing, neither you that waters; but God that gives the increase. Now i that plant and you that water are one'. 'Who am i that i should judge another man's servant? to your own master you standeth or falleth. Yea, you shall be holden up: for God is able to make you stand'.
Forget about the advisees in the main, because the work you do in examining and judging yourself brings repentance, change, and growth; which is the exact rare thing that is being read and studied by them, caught and taught by your life. Your concentration must be an exact conformity and modeling of God's standard - perfection. 'Speak to yourself the things which become sound doctrine'. For 'all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that you may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works'. 'God hath made you an able minister of the new testament; not of the letter, but of your spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life'.
'For if you would judge yourself, you would not be judged. But when you are judged, you are chastened of the Lord'. 'Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. First cast the beam out of your own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of your brother's eye'.
If you are forced to think of advisees, those you have given advice to, you are now responsible for them; point them to the following guides. 'Through His precepts you get understanding (my soul): therefore you must hate every false way. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." - King David. 'Thy testimonies also are my delight and my advisors'. 'The law of the LORD is perfect, converting you (my soul): the testimony of the LORD is sure, making you wise; for you are simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing your heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening your eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them i, your servant, am warned: and in the keeping of them i am greatly rewarded'.
Look to no other wisdom than the above to mark your success. "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain" - Paul. 'For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto you (my soul) who is saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For some require a sign, and some seek after wisdom: But you preach Christ crucified, a stumblingblock, and foolishness to most; but unto advisees which are drawn or called, Jesus is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and' also His weakness is stronger than they.
You and those you advise may find themselves in very trying circumstances, and so learn not to think of it as a strange thing. Look at the saints of old: 'Abel offered unto God an excellent sacrifice, Enoch was translated that he should not see death, and Noah prepared an ark to the saving of his house. Abraham went out not knowing whither he went, Isaac and Jacob were heirs with him of the same promise, and Sara herself received strength to conceive seed. Abraham offered up Isaac, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come, and Jacob blessed both the sons of Joseph. Joseph made mention of the departing of the children of Israel, Moses was hid three months of his parents, and refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter'.
'Moses forsook Egypt, kept the passover, and passed through the Red sea as by dry land. Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy: ) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth'.
You and those you advise could face 'tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword. As it is written, For His sake you are killed all the day long; you are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things you are more than conquerors through him that loved you. You may face 'death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, or any creature, but none shall be able to separate you from the love of God'.
In all that you and those you advise go through, you are a living letter and your lives are being read clearly. Your lives and testimony are used by God in His service. 'For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow His steps'. 'Make your conversation honest that, whereas if any speak against you as an evildoer, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God'. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." - Jesus.
All of these things are in the economy of God for you and those that you advise. That which He permits, gives you opportunity to glorify Him and please Him in all things. There must exist a time and circumstance for the living of your natural life, and God works them all out for your good and the good of those you advise. 'God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it'.
With your advice help your advisee to establish himself as a living letter. To be faithful with what is on his plate and to stand no matter what problems he may face. 'Humble yourself therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you'.
'Finally, my soul, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For you wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints'.
With your advice help your advisee to establish himself as a living letter. To be faithful with what is on his plate no matter what problems he may face. 'Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto you all things that pertain unto life and godliness'. [power] Greek: dunamis (), inherent power; power to reproduce itself, like a dynamo. 'Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for Jesus; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem you from all iniquity, and purify you, making for himself a peculiar person, zealous of good works'.
'As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as you have been taught (as an advisee), abounding therein with thanksgiving'. Walk worthy of the vocation wherewith you are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling;' and you are dead center, part and parcel to it; or i should say part and parcel of Him. 'And now that you are Christ's you have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If you live in the Spirit, also walk in the Spirit. Do not be desirous of vain glory'.
Along with your advisees learn the 250 distinct benefits of the promises of your Testament. 'Having therefore these promises, my wimpy soul, cleanse yourself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God'. And you and they will be able to say 'now being made free from sin, i am a servant to God, i have fruit unto holiness, and my end is everlasting life'.
Again do not slip into trap of trying to solve all of the problems of those you advise for it is not your responsibility. 'Wherefore, my beloved soul, as you have always obeyed, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling' and allow your advisees to do the same. 'But prove your own work, and then you will have rejoicing in yourself alone, and not in another'.
God's Word will accomplish His will in your advisees. 'For this cause also thank God without ceasing, because, when you and your advisees received the word of God which you heard, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you'. God can fully comprehend the manifold depths of your heart, but not another, including your. 'For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on your heart'.
Do not create a dependency in those you advise. For 'although when no counsel is given, the people fall; yet in the multitude of counselors there is safety'. Be ready to refer advisees to other living letters and walking bibles that have advised you. For, 'without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established'. Seek advice from those who have discernment. For 'by wise counsel you shalt make war (for you wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities): and in a multitude of counselors there is safety. Work with others when possible for 'two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if you fall, the other will lift you up: but woe unto you if you are alone, for when you fall; you do not have another to help you up. And if one prevail against you, two of you shall stand against him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken'. 'Where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I'.
You are a servant of Jesus so don't advise for material gain or temporary acclaim. 'What is your reward then (my soul)? Verily that, when you lay out the good news, you may make the gospel of Christ available without charge, that you abuse not your power in the gospel'. 'For you are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God you speak in Christ'. 'For if you yet pleased men, you should not be the servant of Christ'.
The advisor is the servant of the ones he advises. 'For though you are free from all men, yet you have made yourself servant unto all, that you might gain at least one more'. "Whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister" - Jesus.
It is not about you, your advice, your advisees, or their advice. 'You must be bold in your God to speak the gospel of God with much contention. For your exhortation is not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: But as you were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth your heart. For neither at any time use flattering words, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is your witness: Nor of men seek glory, neither for yourself, nor yet of others'. 'For your gospel came not unto you in word only (but from living letters, walking bibles), but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as you knew what manner of men they were among you' for you read and studied them like a book. 'Who also hath made you an able minister of the new testament (a living epistle); not of the letter, but of your spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life'.
It is a labor of love and not about trying to promote your own book or your own-self as a book. 'Let no man deceive himself, and do not deceive yourself among any. If you have gained any wisdom in this world, become a fool, that you may be wise'. "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain" - Paul.
Unfaithfulness as an advisor will bring increased temptation and increased spankings. 'And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as a child, My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If you endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with a son; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?'. 'But when you do wrong you shall receive for the wrong which you hath done: and there is no respect of persons'.
'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever you soweth, that shall you also reap'. 'Wherefore if you think you stand take heed lest you fall'. 'Correction is grievous when you forsake the way: and if you hate reproof you shall die'.
'How long, my simpleton soul, will you love simplicity? and delight in your scorning, and hate knowledge? Turn at my reproof: behold, i/I will pour out my spirit unto you, i/I will make known my words unto you. Because i/I have called, and you refused; i/I have stretched out my hand, and and you did not regard it; But you have set at nought all my advice, and would none of my reproof: i/I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall you call upon me, but i/I will not answer; you shall seek me early, but you shall not find me: For that you hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: you would have none of my advice: you despised all my reproof. Therefore shall you eat of the fruit of your own way, and be filled with your own devices. For the turning away in your simpleness shall slay you, and your prosperity shall destroy you. But if and when you hearken unto me, you shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil'.
You will have to answer at least once for every time someone blames you, in God's process of drilling down to manifest who is responsible. 'For you must appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that you may receive the things done in your body, according to that which you have done, whether it be good or bad. Know therefore the terror of the Lord, and be persuaded; be made manifest unto God; and be made manifest in your conscience (which is not unattached to me)'. "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works" - Jesus. 'Your heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? The LORD searches your heart, He tries your reins, even to give you according to your ways, and according to the fruit of your doings'.
Being a living letter and advising others how to do the same is no small matter. 'My soul, be not a master to many, knowing that you shall receive the greater condemnation. For in many things you offend all. If you offend not in word, you are perfected, and able also to bridle the whole body'. 'And are you confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law? You therefore which advises another, do you not advise yourself? Yes, i will continue to instruct my soul in the things of God.
Be encouraged however, for you are helping others in that you exist as a potential walking bible. You help in that your life is read and studied by others, as you all live your natural lives out in temporary time. For some of you, today is just another day in eternity. There is a reason someone asks you for advice, it is based on something they see. 'Think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you'; it will not only benefit you but those you advise. There is another reason someone may ask you for advice, to set you up. It takes discernment to not cast your pearls before swine. 'If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.
