People let me tell you 'bout.... |

Those who are old enough will recognize the opening words to the theme song of a show called "The Courtship of Eddie's Father". The lyrics are written from a child's perspective about his father and how great their relationship is.
We, as Christians should be singing a variation of that song, as God wants to be our Father, and we should want Him in our lives as Father.
I've been hanging out with a dear sister and elder in the Lord and during our discussion, I just cried and cried... she was relating to me how her new pastor treated her like a daughter, and how that brought her closer to God.
Well, I had been crying in the Spirit for a true Father, one that comforts, guides, etc... and because I thougbt I understood... I had subconsiously been looking for a human representation of that Paternal figure.
Well, during our wonderful talk yesterday my elder in the Lord explained to me that it was misguided to expect that Paternal figure to manifest itself in human form, that I should be looking to God directly for that Paternal support, and I realized in those moments, tears streaming down my face, that I hadn't sought the Lord to show Himself as Father to me in fullnes- which is wnat my soul longs for. He's fillng that place right now, as I pray and ask Him to heal me of the pan of not having a loving supportive father, and He's showing me how a loving father behaves.
I am gratefull for the ministry of God as Father, and I implore all the men that are cruising through the blog and questioning themselves to ponder somethnig very important... the earthly father child relationship has a powerful effect on the relationship believers have with Father God. It's hard to relate to God as being the loving caring Parent that He is and wants to demonstrate in our lives, if we do not have a model to go by. Yes, He can teach us how to accept that aspect of Him, and we should seek that of Him. However, I implore our Christian men to look at how they impact the lives of their spouses and children.
I personally believe the reason so many Christians see our Loving God as distant, forbidding, cold and uninvolved is because in our society there are so many human fathers behaving in that manner. Our lives should be a reflection of heaven, and not the other way 'round.

My personal bio... hmmm. well, who else will I write about? I'm not married. I don't have any kids. I don't have any thing against the little blessings, although I do argue with parents about discipline! All children need discipline.
Some adults could use some too! (I digress).
Overall, I'm...
