Catch a GOOD BUG and pass it on
Last week I was fighting off a very minor cold for a few days. Within a couple of days it was history and I didn't think much about it. That is until three days ago. When my wife blest suddenly came down with the same symptoms.
Wouldn't it be awesome if we could somehow be as contagious spiritually as we are when it comes to spreading a virus? Wouldn't it be wonderful if God blessed us in some way if we could simply touch someone else and they would catch the blessing? Perhaps this is not as far-fetched as it sounds.
We all know that laughter is contagious. Remember as a child how we would be told to be very quiet and then someone in the group would start to giggle and before long the whole group was giggling? Or how about when someone starts laughing at a moderately funny joke; before long everyone is laughing and wondering what they are laughing at.
Smiles are contagious also. I cannot begin to remember all the times I have been at store and the cashier smiled a genuine and real smile and before I could stop it, I was smiling too. God gave us smiles to share with each other, to brighten each other's day and to bring a heartfelt blessing to another person's life.
Peace is contagious too. If, in the midst of a terrible calamity, someone can keep their wits and stay calm and collected; their peace can many times cause the anxiety in others to diminish. How many times have we entered a room where those in it were peaceful and immediately all the storms in our lives were calmed and our hearts melted into the recognition of God's peace which was present.
Of all the contagious things, there is none greater than love. Nothing can inspire someone to crawl out of themselves and give to others more than someone doing the same to them. Manifesting love to someone many times brings about a response of love in return. Practicing the principles of 1 Corinthians 13 forms a circle whereby love just keeps being passed from one to the next and ultimately back to the originator.
In this current time when it seems just about everyone is constantly battling some bug, it behooves us to seek to become highly contagious in the GOOD STUFF. I pray that we all do not become so burdened down with dealing with physical problems that we forget to remain contagious with God's joy, peace, hope and love. Here's praying that you pick up a GOOD BUG today and pass it on!
