What is faith?

Faith—it makes no difference how I feel, I can have faith when I am on the valley floor just as much as when I am on the mountaintop. Faith is not determined by circumstances but rather by our unshakeable belief that no matter what, good or bad, it is our faith in God that pulls us through.

Faith—it makes no difference who I am with, for I can have faith when I am all alone or surrounded by throngs of faithful believers. Faith is not determined by association or fellowship but rather by our undeniable conviction that no matter what, good or bad, it is our faith in God that pulls us through.

Faith—it makes no difference where I am, for I can have faith when I am securely in my bed or stranded in a foreign city all alone. Faith is not determined by our location but rather by our absolute commitment to our Lord that His way is our way and He is the master and we are His servants.

Faith—it makes no difference what time it is, for I can have faith when I am a child or when I am lying on my death bed about to leave this life. Faith is not determined by time but rather by our rock solid certainty that the promises of our God are faithful and can therefore be believed with confidence.

Faith—it makes no difference why I choose to have faith or why I have determined to cling to it. Faith is not determined by my circumstances but rather by my decision to have it. Faith is an individual choice made by all of us to claim the Word of God to be true in our lives and in our thinking.

Faith is the very essence of life. Without faith we die and vanish with the wind. Faith is what gives our life purpose and meaning. Faith is what allows us to live with boldness and confidence both now and when the Lord returns and calls us to His side. Faith is the mustard seed that grows into the ability to believe God loves us and will take care of us no matter what.

Faith cannot be found inscribed on a stone or written in a book to be learned. Faith is an intensely personal matter that is built upon our relationship with God in our hearts. Faith springs from our absolute assurance the Word of God is right and God’s promises are true. Faith is rock we cling to, the wings we hide under and the eagle whereby we may soar.

Faith is the anchor that keeps us from drifting in this life. Faith is the life vest that keeps us afloat during difficult times. Faith is the compass that directs us into the will of God. Faith is the loving embrace our faithful God gives us when times are rough and the quiet assurance that “all is well”.

  Love this blog! Thanks.
Faith - it makes no difference who I am with, for I can have faith when I am all alone or surrounded by throngs of faithful believers. Faith is not determined by association or fellowship but rather by our undeniable conviction that no matter what, good or bad, it is our faith in God that pulls us through.

The only time I can see that it would make a difference who we are with is when I look at what happens to a red-hot coal that is taken out of the fire. It grows cold quickly. So it is with a Christian who is taken out of the company of other Christians, we grow cold faster. But if Jesus is in our hearts we can NEVER grow cold.

Again, love this blog!

I too love this blog! In fact, I just shared it with someone via email.

I love this part:

Faith is the anchor that keeps us from drifting in this life. Faith is the life vest that keeps us afloat during difficult times. Faith is the compass that directs us into the will of God. Faith is the loving embrace our faithful God gives us when times are rough and the quiet assurance that “all is well”.

It's true, B2Y.

Blessings!
