In My Wildest Dreams - he is there!
Adventures of an 18 year old
18, I feel 18 again. However at 37 I certainly do not look 18, perhaps 25 - but not 18. LOL. When I revisit 18 I revisit crazy late nights, a cool summer job, speeding tickets, my first real heartbreak and a ticket out of town - college. Speaking for all of us, a chance to go back and change our younger years would be an adventure, a crazy, exotic adventure. What would I change? The list is endless for my mistakes were many. Or would there be any list at all? 18 lead to 25, 25 lead to 30, 30 lead to ... well 37, 37 lead to... well, today. Here I sit today, me. Just me. A changed me. A better way of living. A me with a smile, a laugh, a hug, a desire. A desire to teach my daughter not to do the things I have done, not to make the choices I had made. I want her to know about the emptiness that follows all of the thrills teenagers seek and yet, some adults still seek. I want her and other teens to know about the tears that will fall when you have realized you have done something that you can never reverse, and you have realized you have hurt others in the process - perhaps even others that you have not met yet - like a future spouse. They need to know about these before they experience them! Father, I pray for the courage and strength to teach her and other youth the narrow path filled with tough choices. Choices that either widen the path or narrow it.
If you could travel back in time and change one thing about your life, what would it be?
