sometimes i think we all just come on here to tell everyone how great we are and why we deserve to go to heaven while giving others reasons why they aren't. i've recently come across some christians that spread their "to hell with all the sinners, i'm going to heaven" speech. you know the ones, where they are all perfect and God only loves them because they are, and oh yeah God's a big fat liar on all that forgiveness stuff.
1 Corinthians 13:
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
they want us all to know they have read the Bible and they already know we are going to hell, and they aren't because "their bible tells them so"
1 Corinthians 13:
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
they want us all to know how great they are in all that they do, and how strong their belief in God is.
1 Corinthians 13:
3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
they all seem so proud of themselves as they boast about how they have some big house in the sky just waiting on them and how they just can't wait to get there,
1 Corinthians 13:
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
all the while they ridicule the rest of us for not being good enough, because how sinful we are.
1 Corinthians 13:
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
they all seem so eager to shout out there love for God while pointing their fingers at us.
1 Corinthians 13:
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
as they are just as happy to go on their way accusing a brother of failure.
1 Corinthians 13:
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
ya know i'm not so convinced of their love for me. for some reason i'm just not feeling the love they claim.
1 Corinthians 13:
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
of course i could be wrong, for my beliefs have been learned through my own experiences
1 Corinthians 13:
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but, you see, in my readings i'm taught that my love for God would expand and through that love i would slowly learn the truth on how to live and how to love.
1 Corinthians 13:
10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
all this name calling and he said, she said talk seems childish and immature.
1 Corinthians 13:
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
for clearly we can not claim to be perfect yet, this i know cause the "Bible tells me so."
1 Corinthians 13:
12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
truth is, all this i'm great and perfect talk does wear on me because i'm not sure all those folks that claim to be all knowing really know what God says about love.
John 15:
12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
and well, i just don't see their willingness to die for me. but i do have faith and hope, for through the love of God all things are possible.
1 Corinthians 13:
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
i mean, i'm just saying.
Praise God,
be a blessing,
bubba
