you know i would like to come here and say that i'm right about everything. me, the guy who cries when the good guy wins and looks through the pain without the fear. the guy who say's fasting is no longer required. i work at trying to live the life of a forgiver with everything that is in me. all the while i refuse to believe Peter the rock was some glory Jesus wanted to bestow upon the man. instead believing that Peter the rock was just the first man to learn who God is whilst being taught by Jesus. Jesus, the one who say's "go and sin no more" chose the one guy that kept on not believing Him to be the first stone to build His church on. of course you can walk on water until you lose faith, and go ahead deny me any way, doesn't matter the rain or the moments when your weakened mind refuses to calm the storm, Jesus will be right there with you anyway.
one of my favorite verses in scripture is when Peter cries out to Jesus and say's "you know that i love you, why do you keep asking me if i love you?" Jesus doesn't just ask Peter three times if he loves Him, no He ask Peter if he loved Him until it hurt. God doesn't want our words He wants our heart. in truth Jesus already knew what was in Peter's heart, because He had already given Him the do over. it was for Peter's sake, so Peter could understand that love.
me, i know that no matter what the crime the punishment is death. i know that if i carry out all the laws according to Moses, i am still the sinner. it was not just the sin that Jesus came to erase it was the death for it. God gave us Moses so we would know right from wrong, He gave us Jesus so He could forgive us. Jesus died in righteousness so we could die in sin. once He forgives us, sin dies within us. no matter that we deny Him till it hurts, as long as it hurts. how many times does He forgive us in a day? if we ask Him, multiply infinity times seventy and we will know.
in our lives we all have loved ones that we hold dear to us that causes us pain. how hard is it to keep on forgiving them? most of us do finally reach our limit and either dismiss them or we toss them out of our mind. Jesus not only forgives those who love Him, He also forgives those who don't know they do. He keeps us all seeking answers until the mud gets washed away, until we are no longer blind, until we can say, now i see. He looks past our sin and separates even our soul from our spirit. He launders our soul, purifies our heart, and completes the Spirit that lives within us. can't we see the reason we are able to overcome our sinful ways has nothing to do with us? can't we see that it has everything to do with what He has done in our lives?
many may tell you i know nothing about what the truth is. they will tell you that you must do this, or you can't do that. But when i ask Jesus what God wanted me to do...
John 6:
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

be a blessing,
