what a wretched man am i?

the Spirit that you worship no longer resides in your temples made of stone, His thunder escaped Him from there a little over two thousand years ago. it now houses in your heart and in your mind where the evil roams. for those of you whose path has taken the addicts course, you will never defeat the evil through the flesh, for your skin can't be laundered. the scrubbing must come from the inside. what is of this world remains stained, and will burn with the evil at that appointed time. God's word is the same today, yesterday and it will be the same tomorrow. He rescues no one born of the flesh, you must be reborn in His Spirit. all of you who live for this world will die with it, but you who live in the Spirit will live eternal in a timeless world where your flight takes you where you wonder.

no battle can be won by the flesh. for all the sins that are conquered by the flesh leave the stain of pride, that reeks with the stench of sin. for our reward comes not in this world but in the Kingdom where Jesus reigns. once you become a child in Spirit your flesh means nothing, for all your victories are won in your heart and sealed in your mind. we can overcome our earthly desires through a discipline taught by man, but in our hearts the wicked remains, for the urge to sin continues to gnaw away. whether we sin in the flesh matters not for our desire to do so convicts us just the same.

no matter what we do, if it be the desire that drives the flesh, or the desire that drives the pride of overcoming the flesh, the sin is still the same. we can't just say to our minds control the flesh, we must erase the yearning for that desire. the only way to rescue our minds from the evil's scheme is to be reborn in the Spirit of God. we must live by the desires of the Spirit. with this new birth comes another source of nourishment that grows the Spirit, the fruits that fall from the tree of life, that is the words that His Holy Spirit left behind, the words found in the Bible. just as our flesh feeds on the fruits of this world, we must feast upon the word of God. In Romans chapter 7 Paul describes for us this process of the rebirth when our desires begin their mutation from the flesh to the Spirit, when the evil forces uses our bodies against us. this is the definition of addiction.

Romans 7:
14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.
15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.
17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.
18 I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19 For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do this I keep on doing.
20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

in truth the laws of good and evil have always existed. when our Spirit is reborn through the grace of the Holy Spirit, our Lord gives us the desires of His heart, where as before our yearnings come from our flesh. the Spirit which is invisible to the naked eye, over comes the flesh which is of this world. for us to over come worldly desires we must live through our Spirit.

Romans 7:
21 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;
23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.
24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

therefore all the struggles that this world holds us slave to is due to us living in this world. without our Lord we would all fall short of defeating these deadly sins that consume us. yet when we live for Him in the reborn Spirit that renews our hearts and our minds, through focus and perseverance we can overcome, by the grace of God.

Romans 7:
25 Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Praise God,

be a blessing
