Promises
Waiting on promises that seem impossible,
Waiting on promises that have been given long ago,
Waiting on promises wondering if what you heard was true,
You want to doubt it but everything else inside you tells you,
"My child, yes this is my plan."
So keep waiting on what seems impossible,
Keep waiting on God although that's the last thing you want to do,
Keep trusting in his word although your strength is wearing,
Trust in the Lord and he will guide you.
You have been waiting so long,
Wondering if this was really God,
So many lies flood your mind,
You can't focus on anything that's not a lie,
Lift your eyes up to heaven and call his name.
Promises have been broken before,
Your heart has been broken by false promises many times,
Keep crying out to God trusting he will answer your cry.
Waiting on dreams that might not come true,
The day grows on and you can't take the stress any longer,
God will you hurry up and answer my prayer? You cry,
He whispers over you in a sweet voice and tells you just wait a little bit longer,
When you get tired and weary of waiting come and rest in my arms and I will restore your strength.
I love you my child, it's just a little bit longer and it will all soon be over,
You can trust in my promises, you can trust in my hopes, you can trust in my dreams,
Surely I say to you, you can trust in me, you can trust in my plans for your life,
For I am the Lord almighty, what I speak happens, and what I promise comes true.
Just keep waiting and watch God fill the impossible,
Watch him work miracles before your eyes,
Just trust him and hold on for the ride and be amazed at all that he does,
Follow him, take up your cross, and trust him with all your heart.
