The Official End Of "The Gift Of ChristianBlog.Com" Has Come.
Hello Everybody,
This message is directed towards the half-dozen or so members who have received, at some point over the last two years, a "Gift of ChristianBlog.Com" - which allowed members to purchase Premier Membership for other members.
When we introduced the "Personal Contact Information" feature we had to halt the ability for people to continue to give the gift... but we did allow those who had received it to continue to keep it.
Rather than individually end each members Gift has their one-year-date came due we allowed those who had received it to keep their Premier Membership.
Sadly we have no brought an end to these extended periods. All those who have received a gift have had it for at least 12 months - many for 18 months.
We realize this might negatively affect some of our members - especially those of you who have more than 50 blogs and greatly desire to continue publishing blogs. This is something we want too. We love seeing blogs published!
So in that light, if you are one of the half-dozen or so people who have had the Gift yet there is no possible way you can afford our Premier Membership we will consider giving you a free Premier Membership so that you might continue to publish blog entries.
There are stipulations though. You must be somebody who has an active blog publication record. If you are not publishing at least one blog a week, please do not apply. If you have not published a blog in the last 45 days, there is again no reason to apply. If you are somebody on very fixed income and cannot afford $10 a month, have in excess of 50 Published Blogs, we invite you to apply. If you are a minor and have a very active publication record, we invite you to apply. Additionally, to anybody who does apply, you must remain an active member of CB. If you are given a gift and you fail to remain active you will lose your free premier membership. We just revoked it from two members today for their failure to remain active - so be aware we do monitor your giving back to the CB Community.
In other words, we are only going to give to those who give back to CB via active blog publication. This is only fair to us.
We have had a few people over the last few months ask us if they could privately give a premier membership to somebody. Sadly, 99% of the time that is not the case. Here is the 1% exception: The member who you would like to give it to must be over the age of 18 and they must be somebody who has already been a premier member and/or somebody who is a CB Donator. (you can tell by looking at their profile and looking for the "I have become a CB Donator" below their usersname) If the person does meet those two requirements, contact the Founder/Owner of ChristianBlog.Com ( @abelajohnb ) with the details and he will make decision and provide you further details.
