Poem of Love

Now I find myself passing,
From one place to the next.
I find myself moving about, around and through,
Past movements of my faith in You.

What started in mountains of fear and awe,
Streamed worship and thanksgiving swiftly down,
Collecting in the pool of obedience.
But I enter another place now,
Or rather I see more completely the place where I walk now.
I step through and looking view,
Yes, it is indeed a new place.

Gently fluttering leaves,
Flowers bloom before me.
Granting a request I did not even know I made.
Bees alight on cue.
You shine Your glory and I see it now more than ever,
Brash, delicate power; honest and pure.
Brilliant.

I linger now here with You Lord,
In love.
I linger in Your love.
This is the place You meant to take me.
I linger with You now.
The world tugs and pulls,
My life beckons and my life calls,
There are things I must tend to, things I must do.
Yet I linger still.
I linger in Your love.

Yes, I love You Lord,
But Your love is true love,
My love a drop loving the ocean,
A speck of dust loving the stars.
Still You let me linger.
Am I spending time?
Do I waste my time?
As if Your love can be bought or sold,
Or worse as if Your love is worthless.
What is time in regards to love?
What is time in regards to You?

Let me explore You,
I scale the uppermost peak of salvation,
Rivulets of grace cool my stiff neck,
A mist hangs over the valley,
As Your beam breaks through,
Shining on still ponds and green pastures below.
The magnificent treasures of this world,
Merely signs of Your greatness.

So I find myself passing into this holy place,
Where fear and awe still exist,
Worship and thanksgiving yet live,
And obedience is sacred.
But beyond all these separate but in unity,
I am reminded of the Trinity,
Is love.
Unexplainable but true.

Not love because I fear You,
Even though I do.
Not love because I owe You,
Even though I do.
But rather,
Love because I love You.

So let me linger longer still,
Let me bask and roll in Your warmth.
I can be in no better place,
I can serve You in no better way,
Than to love You.
Floating in the pool of obedience.

What a beautiful poem! I felt butterflys inside of me when reading it. I felt like I was floating in mid air. It's so beautiful. I love the line where you say: What started in mountains of fear and awe,Streamed worship and thanksgiving swiftly down,Collecting in the pool of obedience.
