Songs of Praise 12
THEY ARE ALL BELIEVERS
Treat all as if they believe,
Because they just might.
With all love and respect,
And honor due,
A creation of the Lord.
Maybe they all believe,
Maybe none truly believe.
How can I possibly know?
Is my belief a true belief?
Am I so resistant,
To Satan's deceptions?
With God I am more powerful,
But am I with God?
Is this my greatest lie,
Here and now,
My life now?
Is Satan not the great deceiver?
Could he not be deceiving me so?
Have others not been deceived so?
Have the deceived not accused others of being deceived so?
My faith might be questioned,
Might be weak or called so.
But these questions,
If stood up to and answered,
Strengthen me more.
Am I the Lord that I question Him?
Nay, rather in fear of Him I question me.
To the last.
Lest I get comfortable in my belief.
VICE
Yes, I have only one vice.
Perhaps a few more but this one only,
I give into freely and frequently.
It's my only vice you see.
Just this one, that's not so bad, just this little one.
It's my only vice.
I'm entitled to at least one.
If I gave up this one I'd be perfect otherwise.
So I keep this vice as my only imperfection.
You don't mind, do You,
If I let just this one little thing get between us?
