Songs of Praise 13

HUMBLE HEART

I say and think I am humble,
And at God's feet I am.
But with others, am I?
Or do my eyes betray me?
Along with my face and my tone?
Or even all internally walled within my proud heart?
I deliver an apology and concede my position,
With the force of a command.

The humble heart demands nothing,
And concedes freely, effortlessly,
The humble heart has nothing to concede,
It retains nothing for itself,
As it claims nothing for itself in the first place.

COMFORT

I feel wonderfully,
Comforted and quiet,
Just knowing You are there.
It's peaceful and I'm full of peace today.
And it might not last all day.
But I have it now and it fills me completely.
Your Spirit calms my spirit,
And lets me know You are there.

There You are.
Always for me.
I feel Your presence and Your peace.
My limbs sway in Your breeze as branches,
I know the wind will blow gently upon me today.
I know the sun will warm me today.
You are so much here now with me.
You are so close to me now and fill me.
