Jesus Take the Wheel

Hey everyone!
I'm listening to this song by Carrie Underwood called "Jesus Take the Wheel." It is an awesome song and it has an awesome message. It talks about a lady who realizes that her life is going wrong and she gives control of the car (her life) to Jesus. We need to learn to give Jesus control of our lives and not do everything on our own. We can't do it without him.

Here are the lyrics to the song:

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy
With the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low, on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was going way to fast
And before she knew it she was spinning
On a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was so scared, she threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw the baby in the backseat
Sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way, I've been living my life
I know I've got to change, so from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel

Isn't that awesome! The message is amazing. I hope you guys like it.

In Christ,
Elizabeth

The song has special meaning to me...I walked a long road with my sister for the last 19 months while she fought cancer. About the time she was diagnosed the song came out and it ministered to her so much. For about the last 20 years of her life she felt she had "made it" as a single mom. She got out and got a job and got a home. She worked 70 hours a week to provide for her and her son. And was so pleased that "she" did it on her own. I often told her she was never alone, that He walked with her. Then when the diagnosis came and the song came, she bowed down raising her hands saying this is more than i can handle alone, Jesus, take the wheel of my life. She was kicking up gold dust dancing down the streets of Heaven with Him at 5:30 am on Aug, 30 this year...she took a 2-3 month prognosis and fought the disease for 19 months not wanting to leave her family. It took it's toll on her till she told Father if you're ready for me i am ready to come...I saw recently that He took cancer and made it a vehicle to bring her to Him. I rest in the fact that i will see her again soon...
