One of Effies fav desserts

The holidays are coming and I am going through my recipes to make for holiday occasions. I ran across one that was my favorite growing up. Since it has strawberry jello as an ingredient, it makes a festive christmas dessert. I always loved chocolate covered pretzels and especially white chocolate pretzels. I always love salt and sweet together. Since the crust is made of pretzels... well you get the idea!

Mom's Surprise Jello dessert

1st Layer:
Press 2 2/3 Cup chopped pretzels mixed with 1 Cup melted butter into 9X13 pan. Bake 300 degrees for 10 min. Cool

2nd Layer
Whip 12 oz cream cheese and 1 Cups sugar. Beat until fluffy. Spread on 1st layer

3rd Layer
Put 2/4 of large cool whip on 2nd layer and chill

4th layer
Melt 1 small strawberry jello into 1 Cup heated pineapple juice. Set a little while. Fold in 2 pkg frozen strawberries. Place on 3rd layer and refridgerate until served.

Enjoy! :cook:

Ooooh, I've tasted this, but my friend calls it strawberry salad, which is much more virtuous because it's "salad"

It is very, very yummy.

Thanks for the recipe!

Ya my recipe was called salad too... .we had a discussion one time about how folks in the midwest call desserts salad hahaha. It is way to sweet to be called a salad and in my book salads have greens lol.
