What does Relegious mean?

Im just a bit confused as to what religious actually means to a christian? I have spoken to many born again and not born again christians and the the main response when non born again christians ask me about my salvation is "are you relegious?" and my response would be, I dont really know, I do what I know God has wrought in me and if that makes me relegious then yeah i guess so!!! So If anyone can give me there take on this question as I would like to know this from a wide denominational perspective.Ive seen how people live for relegion rather than God, as I have many friends within one particular area and there are many different types of church denominations and I find that that people from one denomination have different relegious beliefs as to the others and they all count themselves as christians, and it is almost like the one denomination feels that there relegious beliefs are more superior to the others and a at the end of the day you have christians standing up against each other instead of what God wants which is unity. Ive seen this as I was growing up not knowing God and I thought what a bunch of crazy people, I dont want to go to church because its all confusing to me.God is Jesus is the Holy spirit.which I have come to find only 3 years ago and what I found out for myself is that God wants to remove all of what I learnt from observing these different relegious acts and works and I need to renew my mind because the Bible says that I have now the mind of Christ... anyways I can go on and on...so I want your perspective because the best learning tool is listening.he who has an ear let him hear what the lord has to say...

Hi Genesis,

I read a book called "Heavenly Man" written by a Chinese Christian man that fought for the right to spread the word of God through his land. He went through so much suffering and adversity because of authority (there were only to be three religions in their land and Christianity was not one of them), however, the Christian Church remained strong and stood together through the adversities. The division of the church came in, when the Westerners started sending their books containing "versions" and "opinions" about the Bible. The Christian Church in China became divided through legalism via these books. Remember the age old tactic of Satan, divide and conquer (just like he did with Adam and Eve) and he is doing this through religion. Many sticks together don't break as easily as one stick does!

Please don't base your belief on what Christians say about what they do and don't believe in. Base your belief on what the Bible says. The center most verse in the Bible Psalm 118v8 says "It is better to trust in the LORD, than to depend on human beings".

Hope this helps.

Mel

thank you for those words or encouragement... I just want us christians to unite and put aside our differences because there are too many churches doing other things than that of what God wants from them... here where I stay our Hospitals are flooded and cannot contain the sick and people are dying... .and our churches are too busy with fundraises and who has the biggest and bestest church...I have recently started praying for the sick as well as those opressed by the devil and I saw God move through me... .I tell you was awesome... I am no one special in the eyes of man but in Gods eyes I am His son!!!!!
