78 years old but young at heart

I am 78 years old but young at heart. I have 6 children, 16 grands and 14 greats. They keep me busy.

I am a writer. My testimonies and some Bible studies but I think my items may be too long. What is the limit for them? I post on several sites. I will have to check what others write before I can really post anything.
I do like to just chat. I live in a High Rise but not too many I can really talk with. They are not Christians. We do have Bible studies once a week but not many attend.

I don't enjoy most of the activities they have. Like shooting pool, playing cards or throwing darts. The interet has to be my outlet since I have no car. I like to chat with different people

Any one else as old as me?

I like to write about all that God has done for me. He is so awesome. God bless you all.

Welcome gentledove. We could share testimonies of our mighty God and I look forward to learning from you - how to keep young at heart!Blessings, ptl2008

How old are you to begin with PTL2008? lolol

I started to become young when I met Jesus. Before that I was a gloomy gus. lol Took everything so seriously even simple things. Never cracked a smile.

Had a father who told me I was stupid and crazy. I couldn't do anything right and I believed him. Now that he has been gone I believe He really wanted me to stand up to him!
I was able to forgive him when he was dying. My husband went to see him at the hospital. MY Dad told him that he wished he would have treated me better. I was the best of the bunch!

His confession let me see that I wasn't imagining things! When I was 70, God sent an old class mate my way by email to convince me that I was A -ok. So much wasted time!

God showed me that maybe my Dad did push me so hard because he knew I could do better. He only went as far as teh 6th grade but the man was talented in ways I wasn't. He was great at keeping an exact record of his finances. My records have a lot to be desired. I keep trying but never quite succeed.

2nd he built houses without any schooling. He made up his own plans and put the houses together! My 2 boys are talented like that. They built their own houses. Noah didn't know a thing about building an ark but they all did it. I believe it must be born in you. Just like writing was born in me.

My husband divorced me to marry someone else. I tried two more times and each was worse that the last. (I wasn't a christian yet) I ended up in N.Carolina by myself in dangerous and strange places. Before that I lived beside hard core drug addicts. I wrote on forums or blogs about all this. Many sites. Not sure if I posted it here but I will.

My life was in danger--only a couple blocks away from where 2 people were murdered. In Pa. Two more in N.Carolina. This is where I got saved!

Strange that I stayed very calm about all that. God had me surrounded by His angels! PTL. Also wrote about the different angels who rescued me from many dangers. Look for these posts.

Some good things happened in between all that. It wasn't the good things that changed me. It was the hard knocks that made me grow up and learn that life wasn't all peaches and cream. Had a share of both. With God in my heart, He saw me through all the bad times.

I quit taking myself so seriously and learned to laugh. Life has bedome such a joy. People on different sites helped me develop my sense of humor. God says that laughter is a good medicine!!! Believe me it cured me of a lot of bad attitudes.

6 kids, 16 grand children and 14 great grand kids helped a lot too!

What ever your situation is, ask God how you can receive a better outlook on lifef. It is so short to waste it on petty things. As I once told someone "It's not what happens to you but how you react to it." At times I forgot that theory but it is so true. The man I told it too said it worked for him.

God bless you. A scripture just came to me. I may not be quoting it right but here goes. "Unless you become like little children, you can not enter the Kingdom of heaven." They accept Jesus without questioning. We all have that little child within us.

God bless you. Hope this helps.

Through

gentledove,

I am just above 10 years younger than you.(by way I use King James Version as my reference - does it qualify me to be in your generation ?). which version of the Bible do you use? New American standard version?

I live on the other side of the globe-in Singapore and of Chinese descent, single and educated in English (which is the commercial language in Singapore and one of four national languages).
By experience I am exact opposite of you as I lived with finance and figures(accounts and audits) for more 50 years of my life following the tradition of my maternal grandfather.
I retired nearly 4 years ago and today am active in church and evangelism/missions among foreign students from China, Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries.
My father who lives with me now (87 years) was never hard on me because my mother(now with the Lord) was the disciplinarian in physical and spiritual matters.

Though we have many differences we are similar in the following areas:
We serve a great, big wonderful God (got introduced to Him when I was 3 by my mom, accepted him at 6 years and baptized in the Holy Spirit at 12.
One who loved us enough to send His only begotten Son to die for us.
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.
Yes Jesus said : Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3)

It is Sunday night now in Singapore and I believe Sunday morning where you live as the time differential between Singapore and New York is about 12 hours.

As you are new, I shall be sending you an invitiation to be my friend. Please look out for it. It will allow us to correspond by private messaging too.

Have a great day in the Lord - look forward to getting acquainted in the days ahead.

I'm about 20 yrs. younger than you, but youthfulness is in the heart isn't it.
Looking forward to reading your blogs.
I am isolated too - I think it is a modern day problem with our lifestyles now...
not good. My few neighbours are not Christians either!
'It is not good for man to be alone'

Bless you.
