The Fields Are Ripe; The Harvest Time Is Now!

The fields are ripe and the harvest time is now! God will bring an end to sin and evil on His earth. Revelation tells us of what is to come.

Revelation 19:1–5 (NCV)
The Song of the Saved
1 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb standing on Mount Zion. With him were one hundred forty-four thousand people who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the noise of flooding water and like the sound of loud thunder. The sound I heard was like people playing harps. 3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the new song except the one hundred forty-four thousand who had been bought from the earth. 4 These are the ones who did not do sinful things with women, because they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb every place he goes. These one hundred forty-four thousand were bought from among the people of the earth as people to be offered to God and the Lamb. 5 They were not guilty of telling lies; they are without fault.

I never have understood this one hundred forty-four thousand people in heaven. I would think heaven would be bigger than that. Yet, maybe these are just as it says, without fault. Wait a minute, I thought all had sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So if we are all righteous because of our belief in Christ and what He did for us on the cross, you mean to tell me that only 144,000 people are like that? Maybe that was John’s small vision; he only saw part of heaven. In any case, we should try to be just as this says, do not do sinful things with women…or men if you are a woman; and we should not be guilty of telling lies and of course we will be without fault through our belief in Jesus Christ. This really gets me thinking about my own life. Am I all I could be for God?

Revelation 19:6–7 (NCV)
The Three Angels
6 Then I saw another angel flying high in the air. He had the eternal Good News to preach to those who live on earth—to every nation, tribe, language, and people. 7 He preached in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him praise, because the time has come for God to judge all people. So worship God who made the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the springs of water."

Remember chapter thirteen where the world had turn to worship the beast image? Well, this angel comes with a warning to fear God, praise and worship Him. It will be at that moment people will have one final chance to repent and turn from the evil they have done. One FINAL chance. After that, I’m afraid there will be no more chances.

If you haven’t already given your life to God, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for that final chance? What if you miss it? Do it before it is too late.

I am confident most of my readers are saved. Yet just by chance that someone has stumbled on to my blog through a search, please, change your heart and repent of your sin and give your life to God before it is too late. I will say a prayer at the end for you to pray so you can be saved from hell and God’s final judgment of humankind.

Revelation 19:8 (NCV)
8 Then the second angel followed the first angel and said, "Ruined, ruined is the great city of Babylon! She made all the nations drink the wine of the anger of her adultery."

I’m not sure what to think of this. Maybe some of my scholarly readers can help us understand this second angels words. Is it from the sin in the church that there will be anger from God? I know that just because people go to church doesn’t automatically make them a Christian. Also there are the false teachers we are warned about. This could be speaking of them and their followers.

Revelation 19:9–12 (NCV)
9 Then a third angel followed the first two angels, saying in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his idol and gets the beast's mark on the forehead or on the hand, 10 that one also will drink the wine of God's anger, which is prepared with all its strength in the cup of his anger. And that person will be put in pain with burning sulfur before the holy angels and the Lamb. 11 And the smoke from their burning pain will rise forever and ever. There will be no rest, day or night, for those who worship the beast and his idol or who get the mark of his name." 12 This means God's holy people must be patient. They must obey God's commands and keep their faith in Jesus.

So, do we want the mark of the beast on our foreheads or hand? I think not! Unless you like burning pain forever. That means it will never go away; you will burn FOREVER! That is a long time. Oh, and with that burning pain you will of course get no rest, day or night. Sounds like a place I want to be for an eternity…NOT!

So as Christians John tells us that we need to be patient once again. We must also obey God’s commands and keep our faith in Jesus. We need to change our hearts if they are impure and start to turn towards a right life with God. Sure, we will never be 100% perfect, but God looks at our hearts and knows if we are giving it 110% or just shining Him on. Don’t think you can shine God on.

Revelation 19:13 (NCV)
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die from now on in the Lord."
The Spirit says, "Yes, they will rest from their hard work, and the reward of all they have done stays with them."

We will be blessed…even if we are dead. We will rest with our Lord from our hard work that we have done in His name. We will be rewarded for all we have done too.

Revelation 19:14–16 (NCV)
The Earth Is Harvested
14 Then I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and sitting on the white cloud was One who looked like a Son of Man. He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Then another angel came out of the temple and called out in a loud voice to the One who was sitting on the cloud, "Take your sickle and harvest from the earth, because the time to harvest has come, and the fruit of the earth is ripe." 16 So the One who was sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

Jesus will harvest the earth in the end. He will gather the wheat from the earth and store it in His grain bin in heaven. He will bring His great Bride to heaven, to the home He has prepared for her. The church will see God’s glory finally and there will be no more pain; no more tears, no more struggling to survive. We will be in heaven where there will be no wants, no needs, or anything that God cannot provide for His people. Of course, our wants and needs may change drastically when we get to heaven. That sports car will never match up to the chariots of fire in heaven. Also, do you really think golf will be a challenge anymore? Sorry Pastor. Our image of heaven can vary, but I imagine when we do get there we will be amazed at how wrong we were. It will be way more than we ever expected.

Revelation 19:17–20 (NCV)
17 Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18 And then another angel, who has power over the fire, came from the altar. This angel called to the angel with the sharp sickle, saying, "Take your sharp sickle and gather the bunches of grapes from the earth's vine, because its grapes are ripe." 19 Then the angel swung his sickle over the earth. He gathered the earth's grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God's anger. 20 They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the winepress as high as horses' bridles for a distance of about one hundred eighty miles.

This angel is not gathering people for heaven. Oh, they will get to see God, but it will be God’s anger they will get to see. There will be so many that the blood from them will be as high as a horses’ bridle for a distance of about one hundred eighty miles. That is two trips from GF to Helena for me. WOW! That is a lot of blood, so that is a lot of people. It is sad, but many will not turn even in the last days. It will be a very bad day for them… which will turn in to a very bad eternity for them too.

Prayer: Father God, I thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sins to make me right with You once again. It is not of anything I have done, but because of what You have done for me that I can even have a chance to enter heaven. I believe Christ died on the cross to take away my sins and give me life everlasting with You. I am a sinner, but I am forgiven through the blood of Christ that was spilled on Calvary’s cross. I accept Jesus as my Savior from all my sins and believe that I will be delivered from hells grip on my life. I believe that I will be adopted into Your family Father God and I will be one of Your children who You care for deeply. I will be the lost sheep You left the ninety-nine to find. Thank You Father for searching for me to save me from an eternal hell that I was headed for. Now help me to glorify Your name above all names. Let me receive Your mark on my forehead and not the mark of the beast. I want to be Your child, not a child of Satan. Fill me now with Your Holy Spirit to help me be all I can be for You Lord. Make my hunger for you be stronger than anything in my life is. Help me to search Your Word for truth about who I am now and what I can look forward to because of my choice today to believe and receive from Christ my glorious Savior the precious gift of Salvation. Thank You Father God and thank You Jesus. Show me the work You have for me to do to prepare for your coming back for us, Your bride. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

If you have prayed this for the first time, Hallelujah! Welcome to God’s family. Now you need to be fed the Word of God. Ask God to show you a church to belong to. Then serve Him for the rest of your life and look forward to an eternity in heaven and rest rather than hell and suffering. Praise the Lord for the extra souls today and always.

In God’s Love,

I don't claim to know it all especially when it comes to the book of Revelation. Thanks for your comment though Diva. I was actually really excited when it all kind of lead into a salvation message. I wasnât expecting that at all. In fact, I almost was late for my menâs Bible study at 6:00 AM because I wanted to make sure and get it out since God gave it to me. I pray someone who doesnât know the Lord stumbles on to my blog and gets saved.

Thanks Again,
GFCC Brother
