My son is leaving for the Air Force

I can remember my grandmother saying how fast life goes by, its just like a blink of an eye. I didn't understand then but I sure do now. It seems like just yesterday my son was a baby and now, he's leaving in a couple of weeks to the United States Air Force . Over 1200 miles away to serve our country. I've been putting together his life story with pictures to make a farewell video. I can't help but wonder , did I do the # 1 job, did I point him to Christ? It appears to me that satan has launched a horrible attack on the young people today. Just comparing my childhood a generation ago, to what I see today, I shutter. It strikes me every time I hear slams on Christians, that we are weak people , that Christ is a crutch, we are just a bunch of fools. The Truth is of course the opposite. The strength it takes to give your life, emotions, heart, money, hands, to a God we don't see . Yes, I know , we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, but its still hard work to submit everyday. I can honestly say I've never regretted obeying God, only regrets I have is when I didn't. I see POWER , not what the world see's. I grew up with 3 sisters , no brothers. I hope I lived a life that my Son see's there is power in the christian. Young men, maybe all men, certainly don't want to be perceived weak , I hope he can persevere through the Air Force. Those who have young children, don't rush through the diaper years, trouble 2 years, enjoy , it really does fly by and in a blink, they are gone. Don't get caught up in the game of life, you know, the best baseball, soccer,etc...point him or her to Christ. My son said he remembers when his Dad stopped the nightly prayers , go ahead pray with them into the teenage years. We stopped as he got older, mainly because of the obnoxious attitude that came out of him, who knew he really missed it? My hope is that my children will be better parents! If anyone reads this , please pray for my son ! God Bless you all

Dear Lord,
Your Word says "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." For the training he's got we pray that You will help Gina's son's remembrance and recall. We pray that You will cover him with Your precious blood and draw him to Yourself even as he enters the Air Force. Lord let him have pals who love You rather than who will draw him away from You. Please hear this mother's prayer for her son. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

As a father of 3 girls and "inheriting 10 grandkids from my (on the 28) 3 years of marriage, time does stand still for no one. i can remember my oldest being born in Germany and now she will be 25 this year.Your son along with all those who are now serving in all branches of our arm forces and those getting ready to join will always be in my family's prayers. it's humbling to know that so many people are praying for you. be blessed and know that god has blessed us with alot of new and better ways to keep in touch and stay connected with loved ones.
