Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord
I was listening to Moriah Peters’ song, Well Done. I just heard it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. 10 words into it, I was hooked. She said something that I love, and it made me understand something. The first lines are “I’m headed down this narrow road, chosen by the few...” Did I say I loved it! I love it. God chooses every last child on this earth. Whether or not they choose Him back? That’s another story. I realize we’re very blessed to be in His midst and all that goes with it, but if someone doesn’t choose this life? He still loves and chooses them; so should we. It’s those who disparage those who don’t respond to His calling that irk me. My bad. Truly I do love and forgive them, I do, but they’re hurting other people. They’re getting in His way! We all make mistakes and Jesus died for all sinners. He came to heal them not, not accuse them. My hope is that we, as believers—who do choose the narrow road—can love and heal those who aren’t on the road so they want to be here. Encouragement and forgiveness are of supreme importance. Casting Crowns has a song about this, that can get me in the right frame of mine. Here are the words:
Casting Crowns - Jesus, Friend Of Sinners Lyrics
Artist: Casting Crowns
Album: Come To The Well
Jesus, friend of sinners
We have strayed so far away
We cut down people in Your name
But the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners
The truth’s become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You
But they’re tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up
I’m so double minded
A plank-eyed saint with dirty hands
And a heart divided
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world
At the end our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Break our hearts for what breaks Yours
Jesus, friend of sinners
The One whose writing in the sand
Made the righteous turn away
And the stones fall from their hands
Help us to remember
We are all the least of these
Let the memory of Your mercy
Bring Your people to their knees
Nobody knows what we’re for
Only what we’re against
When we judge the wounded
What if we put down our signs
Crossed over the lines
And loved like You did
You love every lost cause
You reach for the outcast
For the leper and the lame
They’re the reason that You came
Lord, I was that lost cause
And I was the outcast
But You died for sinners just like me
A grateful leper at Your feet
‘Cause You are good
You are good
And Your love endures forever
And I was the lost cause
And I was the outcast
You died for sinners just like me
A grateful leper at Your feet
