When we think of the Christian life as being hard there are usually two reasons in the forefront of our minds: either physical pain or emotional pain. Often both are present. None of us want to deal with pain. And yet, it seems God has very real and valid reasons for allowing pain into our lives. It is a very complex subject that cannot begin to be covered or answered with any degree of merit in a blog. I would note, however, that one source which has helped me to understand the subject more fully and deal with my own pain has been, The Problem of Pain, by C.S. Lewis. That book has helped me understand pain from God's point of view. In the end I can say with confidence and personal experience that God truly does cause all things to work together for good, for those that love him...even those things that inflict great pain for a season.

Although i find the yoke that god gave me easy to bear, its the yoke that man insists i wear that makes my walk difficult at times. I find Gods burden equally light, but at times I buckle under the burden we impose on each other.
And as for heartbreak, pain, sickness, these are not things my God imposes on me, these are consequences of original sin, my God just permits them so as to help me grow in him.

Thanks you Guys that's real and powerful insight. I agree with each and everyone of you, Alight you are true the waiting is hard cause I sometimes to want to just go on with him, At times in my sickness I really did ask God a couple of times to just come get me and take me with him. And yes you can say crap because if that was what they told you about healing, then yeah it's crap. God is the same yesterday today and Forevermore. He has no respect of persons. And what Jesus did on Cross never loses it's power. When I went through my illness I meditated, prayed, quoted, believed and put God in remembrance of his word. God also commanded me to rebuke the devil and put him behind me. Remember Like Bethy said God doesn't put things on us, they come from one, or the other; consequences of sin, the devil, disobedience, or lack of faith
Do not let others rob you and your wife of what God has for you, try him for yourself. God honors faith, He moves concerning his word, He said his word will not return unto him void. Now is not healing in his word!!!!
And sometimes too Bethy I get sick and tried of people too, and I wonder, just as Paul did also, would it be good for me to go on with God or stay here and preach the Gospel. I forgot what book that scripture is in but ;I feel his pain sometimes.
And it is true as well Mkmills you wonder sometimes why God allow us to hurt but in the end He works it all out for us, in such away that we forget about the pain. I went through so much at one time, I felt like Job but now I'm in a season where I'm so blessed I feel like Solomon. I agree that those seasons are for a reason, mainly to make our faith stronger and our love for him too.

Before I always say that Christianity is very hard. It was easy at the start when I was on fire but after a few months I felt it was very hard to continue with all the things a Christian must do like read the bible, pray, fast, go to church, reach out, etc. etc.
But when I understood that Jesus really came not to impose heavy outside rules upon us but to actually act within us to make it easy for us to be righteous.
Mat 11:28-30 says "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Jesus was talking about the Law (the outside righteous rules, the 10 commandments) when He said to all who are weary and burdened. He knows its hard for us to follow His outside rules. He understands that it's difficult. But He said my yoke is easy and burden light, He means that He came to introduce the Holy Spirit (which is still Him), to be in us so that we can still be righteous by His urge within us.
That gave me great comfort. I no longer force myself to pray, read the bible, etc, etc...and I don't feel guilty if I don't... but I'll just listen the urge of the Spirit within. Whats amazing is that you'll find yourself talking to Him all the more and even reading His word all the more. And although you don't force yourself to be righteous, it will be automatic as you allow the love from the Spirit to naturally flourish in your heart.
Many found it hard because they are not focusing on the urge of the Spirit but on following rules.
Have a nice day!

Nice and right Ncms, At first we think Oh Boy I got to do all this, and stop doing all that. Wear this and don't wear that. Go here and don't go there ect. But as you walk and grow in Him, you find out that it is not about "the old" as you said but about "the new"
And the liberty that comes with it!
Thanks for your comment

Remember this, when we first took hold of Jesus' hand we were a long way off of the straight and narrow path, so He has to lead us back through the briers and thorns on the way back to the path.
Or perhaps an even better picture is this, we have been swept away by the winds of the world, and Jesus will lead us directly back into the peaceful eye of the storm, as we approch the center of the hurricane the winds will become more intense, and many things that we have called precious will be blown away.
However, if we make Him our Lord and Master, and never let go of His hand we can walk with Him in the eye of the storm. Psalms 91 describes this experience.
Yes, there have been many trials, and I would hesitate to call the Christian life 'easy,' but Joy is not the absense of pain, it is the presense of God, and when I I think back to when I was lost (shudder) then I would have to agree that His yoke is easy.
