Withstanding the Storm for real
After writing the book "Withstanding the Storm", I have had to ask myself if I really believe it.
My faith has been shaken to the core. I have faced storms in life, as we all have. Some of them pretty big.
I faced my mother being murdered by Nelson Mandela activists in South Africa (who she had spent her life as a missionary to along with my father)
I have faced other storms not quite so intense, and have learned, by reading the Word and following the direction of the Spirit of God, how to maintain a relationship with him through it all.
Well, the gale force winds are blowing in a strength I have never experienced till this point in my 49 years.
I have had some very positive feed back on my book recently. Three churches are now using it as a study guide for teen youth programs and cell groups, and I have been contacted by four large churches lately and asked to send a copy for review. One of these is an 8,000 member church in Lexington KY, also the Evangelist Mario Murillo in CA who I have the utmost respect for after watching him on TBN, as well as Dr. Miles Munroe, asking me to contact his bookstore manager about sending a review copy. Things seemed to be progressing supernaturally well.
Well, the winds are blowing, and the rain is coming.
The storm in our lives is this: I have been attacked so hard physically, that I can barely work anymore. Because of changing economy and technology I have lost business in my home based graphic design work to the tune of 20,000 per year also, and now the worst blast of wind I have ever felt (including my mother's own death) came this week when we found out that my 10 year old son, Caleb Nathan, the absolute delight of my life, has scoliosis. He is just starting his seven year growth to maturity, and can look forward to a life time of disability and pain.
We will not put him through the standard medical practice of hard bracing and major reconstructive surgery, because we know first hand that none of that works. The only programs we have found that offer hope, not of cure, but of making life a little easier, our insurance refuses to cover, and is many hours drive away. He would have to go all the time also.
Praise God anyway. I will NOT lose faith. I will trust in Him fully, even if I and my family can only wait in the house to die.
To be honest, I I have even contemplated arranging my own 'accidental 'death to try to offer the insurance I have on my own life. It has come to that. I know I would not do it, but I can't imagine that kind of thought would ever have passed my mind.
I see a little of how Elijah must have felt in the desert, hiding from Jezebel, even after such victory in God.
Thank you for the shoutout Golden, and our family would appreciate anyones prayers who is led of the Spirit of God to do so.
Sincerely in Christ always,
