The deafening silence of a raging storm....

The deafening silence of a raging storm...

Quite often I have more than humanly possible going at any given time. Because of the nature of what I do, I am often juggling deadlines and responsibilities that cannot realistically all be accomplished in the time frame set by those over me. Most days scream by in a flurry of meetings, phone calls, emails, text messages, and voice mails. Mix in budgets, estimates, front end documents, bid schedules, and phase submissions and you get the blend I call my workday. I'm only half time you know...the other 12 hours they let me go home. Yet in the midst of the whirlwind, I will often find myself utterly bored to death. Staring off into space and longing for something to make the day really exciting again. So much to do, but in the year or so I have been doing it, it's all become mundane. I have conquered it all and have made every process streamline and consistent, the learning curve no longer exists. And that said, the flurry is just a flurry and the excitement and anticipation of new challenges is all but gone. Deafening silence in the midst of the raging storm.

There is only the calm and a voice which calls out, "Be still and know that I am God". And the unrest can barely stand it.

Blessings,
PapaBear

I know the feeling Papabear, work gets mundane, the same thing, the same people, nothing new. Sometimes I wish for an exciting life. But God has us here for a reason even though it doesn't make sense to us.
Love ya!

Your life does sound exciting... All I have ever known is a busy life, which means that when it slows even for a few seconds I have caught myself looking for something to do to bring it back up to the hype it always is. BIG mistake... you're right, God wants us to be still... it's the way we will know HE is GOD. Loved your words, thank you for reminding me to stop and smell the coffee, breath in the fragrance of fresh cut grass, notice my daughters smiles, and hear the birds on beautifully lit spring days... He is God, creator of the Universe, Author and Finisher of our Faith... and He does all things well.

Ok Son - everytime you have "conquered it all" God has taken you to something new -are you ready?

"Be Still and know He is God" - means he has something you need to hear -so just be still
I know that is hard to do when life keeps moving so fast.

Love Ya
Mom
