Zoe returns to the hands of her Creator.

We laid to rest a dear old friend today. My wife, my children, and I will miss her very much.

We buried our family dog, Zoe, today. She had been with us for 14 years, since my oldest daughter was only two years old. We are sad that she is now gone, but she is in much less discomfort now. The last month has been hard for her and she was struggling to eat and move about. She had lost 20 lbs in just the last few weeks. I was a hard decision to make, but God was there with us as we did so. I am thankful for a vet with a soft and honest heart, who helped us with this process. I am praising God for soft ground and my sons, both which helped with the burial. May God keep her memories alive in our thoughts as she has kept love in our hearts through the years. We surrender her back into the loving hands of her Creator, good-bye Zoe.

It is meaningful that all in your family have shared in this experience of honoring the life of your loved one. I have mourned the loss of several special animals over the years. It is good to make it special, just as any friend or family member. God be with you all during this mourning era.

I feel your pain. In 2001, we buried our Dusty that we had for 16 years. It was a hard decision but there are no kidney transplants for dogs.
Hug all the kids and cherish all the memories. If you have taken photos over the years, but together a little memory book of Zoe.
