The Bride or The Whore?

The stench of death lies dormant in the air as the sound of crunching bones echo. Nails drive into His hands as His Beloved turns her back on His final breath. She loses courage to focus on His love-filled eyes. He was doing this for her. They suspend Him high into the air as the nails pull away at His flesh. And she walks away with one last glance. He cries out from the depth of His loneliness. He loved her so very much. She would have been better off by just nailing Him to the splinter infested cross herself. He tries with every little breath He has to woo her back, but He finally says goodbye for just a moment. As He’s away, she finds pleasure in other things. Prosperity calls her name. Lust calls her name. Conformity and compromise call her name. She has become a self-seeking Bride. How did she forget Love hanging high on the hill? The time draws closer for Him to show, and she drifts further and further away. She is so taken by passing things that she has forgotten who was tried for her. What about His death? Did she forget His final glance as she walked away? His last look consisted of tear-flooded eyes and a broken heart, because His Bride turned her back on Him. As she wanders about and enjoys and finds pleasure in other things, she digs her own grave. The final moment strikes and He reveals Himself again. He reveals love again. She’s in a panic as He says, I have loved you, even when you turned your back on Me… on My death… all for you. But you have found other desires and satisfaction in other things. So, I’m asking you… I’m giving you a second chance… will you love Me or love these things? Will you be my Spotless Bride or will you continue to play the Whore? Your choice…”

Hischosen1,

Wow, kind of makes you think about all that we consider "important". "Things" don't come close. He really does love us!

I just have one question about what you wrote. At the end you have Jesus saying, "I'm giving you a second chance...", why did you chose those words?

Very well written, keep it up.

WOW. This is ... well ... it's just wow. That's pretty much all I can say.
Anyone who knows me can tell you I'm rarely speechless (just ask my good friend, bethy).

This is truly awesome stuff, Hischosen1. Thanks for sharing your heart and making me think.

Be so blessed, Mona

well, I'll be honest. I don't know why I chose those words.. I really don't. They just kinda spilled over. Might I mention, I wrote this as the Lord was leading me when I was in my alone time with Him.

wow, i know why I chose those words now... it just came to me. [lol] The Lord was directing the question to His Bride, someone that had already accepted what He did for her. ( i wrote this because alot of preachers are preaching "how to's" in the church, example: "how to get rich quick" "how to find treasures ON earth" and they have forsaken the Cross, they aren't preaching the Cross. They aren't lifting up the Cross.) ok so, as I was saying. Jesus has already given His Bride the first chance by giving US the opportunity to RECEIVE what He did for US. But sometimes.. other things interrupt our walk so to speak. So, i guess the second chance is, WILL you love ME again? Will you remember what I did for you?

you understand? it's a very very hard thing to explain lol.

What a great blog, and written by one so young. I'm so thrilled that young people today are still being touched, by a "Touch from The Lord."

I trust that you will continue to be found, at the foot of The Cross.

Much Christian love.

dear hischosen1,

this is an amazing blog... how beautiful for you (and for us!) that the Lord was leading you with these painfully heartfelt words. it humbles me and reminds me that Jesus is and should always be the center of my (our) life. i was just thinking today about how much i have to do... how many "hats" i wear and how difficult it is to find balance and achieve what i think are important goals.

but as always, He leads me EXACTLY where i need to be and places before me what i need to know and remember.

thank you so much for sharing this with us. (wow... i really wish i could hug Jesus right now and tell Him how sorry i am when my mind strays away from His love )

joy to you!
