Meeting Minutes from CB Chat-Communion ... AWESOME

It was the best. I've been to a lot of Communion services in my lifetime, but this one was, bar none, THE one. The Holy Spirit was there in full force, and had me in total melt-down mode.

There were 17 in attendance.

We were lead into the worship service by a lovely welcome, offered to us by Alight, the originator of this creative and blessed event.

KPrincess led us in a beautiful prayer session that perfectly set the mood for all the reverence and honor that we longed to pay our Lord.

Bethy then led us in two songs. Excellent choices for such a service, too ... We sang, first, The Old Rugged Cross, then Power in the Blood.

B2Y then began the "meat" of our service. He told us the story of how Isaiah prophesied long before the event of our Lord's great sacrifice, all the horrific things they would do to our Master. He reminded us that the depth and breadth of that detailed and graphic treatment of our Lord Jesus was to cover not only all sin for all eternity, but also the reprecussion of that sin. And the world's past sin, present sin (at that time) and future sin for all this planet's days ... well ... that's a lot of sin. And sin causes fall out, such as disease, illness, sorrow, pain, etc. etc., and Jesus was paying for all of that, too.

He then led us in the scripture from the last supper Jesus had with His disciples. It it is always beautiful, but this time, all I could do was weep. Throughout the entire thing, I was simply weeping and blessing my Savior.

We ate of His body together, and drank of His blood.

Bethy concluded service for us by leading us in our benediction song, I Surrender All.

When I left, praise was still being lifted.

Hallelujah. What an awesome time, and what a huge Presence I felt in that chat room.

Thanks to all who attended, and to our leaders, and a special thanks to our creative and intuitive brother, Alight, for being the vessel he is ... so that the Holy Spirit could offer this idea up to us through him.

I do so love each and every one of you. I'm so glad I got to be there, after all. God is so good.

Be blessed.

Yes Alight, I was crying. I really was. I cried through most of it. I too am very grateful for this precious time so many of us shared together. When I thought about people who were there from various places around the world, I was overwhelmed. Thank you to all of you who attended. It was good to be with you! Thank you to all of you who wanted to be there but couldn't be there but were thinking about us and praying also. We know you were still with us! Thank you to CB for providing a place for us to come together like this from across the globe. We really appreciate it!

Finally, thank you Alight, for catching the vision of this and making it happen. Thank you Bethy for leading us in the beautiful songs God placed upon your heart and thank you B2Y for sharing with us the words God had given you.

Blessings!

I can only say Amen to all that has been said, and it sure was an amazing worship service. Lovely eloquent blog Ilovehimso, and also the comments. I can only say that those who missed this service, missed a slice of Heaven on earth!! As the chorus says :-

He is Lord, He is Lord,
He is risen from the dead, and He is Lord.
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess,
That Jesus Christ, is Lord.

I was crying when I knew that Aj was not gonna be there. I was crying throughout the service. And reading this blog and all its comments, Im crying again.

O the love that drew salvation's plan
O the grace that brought it down to man
O the mighty gulf that God did span
At calvary...

I love you lord, I lie in your arms and I move foward, holding onto your nail scarred hand.
Amen

Last evening a pretty incredible thing took place here at the Christian Blog chat room. Around twenty believers gathered and celebrated Holy Communion. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but to be able to have a service which was decent and in order and a blessing to those involved was quite an accomplishment.

It is not that last night started a trend of Christian Blog events including weddings and funerals for that is not the purpose of this site. But, being a community, it was heartwarming and inspiring to see so many people come together to worship, praise and remember our Lord's sacrificial and atoning death. Whether such an event happens again, no one could say right now, but there is no negating the power and the peace and the healing balm of love which flowed through the airwaves last night.

Not everyone belongs to a church, including me. Not everyone who belongs to a church is able to get to that church on a regular basis. Not everyone who goes to a church is happy with the church they are going to. In other words, there are many believers who simply do not attend a church on a regular basis but who crave the fellowship, teaching and inspiration that comes from believers fellowshipping together. Thus the need for a site such as this and for something like a community communion.

I was afforded the honor of presiding over the actual communion service last night. I consider it an honor due to the fact that I certainly did not deserve the privilege. Being asked to do something I had not done in many years initially somewhat flustered me, for I didn't think I would remember how to do it. But, with much effort and work I feel I sort of did a fair job in presenting the bread and the wine in a way that blessed those who were there.

I tell you this because I never really thought I would ever actually be the one conducting such a service again. To be allowed by God to function in the capacity I did last night is actually a blessing far too large to possibly explain. I will just leave it with saying that I never would have thought just a couple of years ago that such a thing would be possible.

Thanks be to God for providing the idea and to alight and K and bethy for acting on it. Thank you for allowing me to conduct the service, it was an awesome honor.

This service was absolutely awesome. I have been to a fair number of "communion services" but never one presented such as this one was. From the introduction to the ending song -the Holy Spirit was there all the way. That was evident by the flow of the whole service the prayer that led to the worship songs that led to the most inspiring message I have ever heard which led right into the breaking of bread and the drinking of the cup and then into worship and praise in song and heart felt statements. I have never experienced the realism of the breaking of bread and the drinking of the cup like I did in this service. I think a part of that was the excellent preperation in B2Y's message and of course the undeniable presence of the Holy Spirit.
I want to give a special Thanks (and big hugs) to John, Alight, K, Bethy and B2Y for taking the time to give us the oppertunity to have this service and Bless all who attended the service and those who prayed even though they could not be there.

JESUS IS LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS!!

I remember when the 'internet' became more widely used in our personal homes and many Christians fearing that we were giving satan an open door to invade our homes and use the internet for evil. To listen to the news, we might think that has come true.

But last night proves that all things belong to God. What the enemy may try to use for harm, God uses for His good.

Thank you all, especially brother alight for having the vision and perseverence.

This was an awesome experience.

A communion I will long remember.

All went very smooth and orderly.

Thanks to alight for arranging things, B2Y, bethy and kreynolds for their work.

And a special thank you to John for allowing us this special time for a gathering.

We are a global church.

Oh all of you are making me cry again! I just wanted to add that my mom really enjoyed joining us. I was hesitant in inviting her to join me, but that was purely selfish on my part. So I asked her, she agreed, was skeptical but ended up crying through the entire thing! Thank you for even making this possible!
