'Why do they call it a "Black Box" when it's really orange?

Disclaimer” People let me tell you bout my best friend, he’s a warm hearted person who’ll love me till the end..( I loved to watch that show when “ABC had decent shows) Awhile back this
summer , I was listening to 2 old songs sung by different people but the titles were talking
about the same thing.. One was called”A house is not a home” and the other one “It’s my
house and I live here.” The first one paints a picture of “stuff with no one to share it with.

The other talks of everything from a welocme mat to what the foundation was built on
figuratively..It took me back to the apartment house where I grew up at in NYC. I believe
the term use to be a tenement flat like you use to see in old black and white movies.
Over the next 18 years there would be 2 houses and 2 more apartment building which
my family would reside until my mother passed away in the 90’s.There would be the time
I was stationed in Germany while in the military and lived in World War 2 barracks.

My x wife and oldest daughter would live in a Germany town ,on base at Ft Dix NJ,
FT Bliss, Texas, Schofield Barracks Hawaii, and the 30th floor in a apartment building
called” Twin” because there were another one of the same and biggest on the island.
Watching shows like”This Old House” and the latest ones on “DIY’ Network inspired
me to write this. You hear about homeless people and those who lost they homes
and it makes you think. You see all types of stormes and homes get destroyed.

The children’s story about “Little Red Riding Hood comes to mind.( If it was me
I would be offering the wolf a breath mint.. lol) I’m more of a when I look around at
all “this stuff does it matter and what’s more important than”the stuff”?..
This coming weekend, I told my wife that I have to get “rid of some stuff”

I dont want to become a “hoarder” and yes I’m emotionally attached to
‘some stuff”.But over 51 years people and relationships are more important
than “stuff”. No yard sale or a Pod” in the front of my apartment.
May everyone be encouraged as you read this. Be blessed.

You still have the best blog titles, Vettie!

As Jesus reminded us, we're not to treasure the "stuff" that will rust or rot or be eaten by moths. Our treasure is in heaven.

I need to clean out stuff too. As we get older, we feel the need to clean out junk so our kids won't have to do it

Yes, I have been cleaning up my yard just earlier and are giving away many good things that I have not used at all, so I can relate to this blog. Whilst reading this blog, I am also reminded that there are others whom I choose to let go of their friendship and others I choose to keep.

As we grow older, we will know of friends that are true friends while others have been walking with us only in fair weather.

But the best that I am reminded is that our God, Jesus stays with me through the ups of downs and He is always there in every homes I have reside through the years of my youth. Thanks God for being our silent Guest and our best Friend always.

Thanks for sharing, Brother Vet

Blessings always

Vettie, i do not hoard. In fact I have been known to dump things while they are still needed. But if its lying on my floor/bench/table then in my view its for dumping..

But I get this blog. I really do.

That stuff tends to build up for sure. They all bring mixed feelings. Love and grace costs us nothing, and is the best by far. We always regret we gave too little of them at times. And also treasure the reminders of them. But life is not over yet brother. Looks like you learned a lot.

Thank you for sharing. I appreciate your presence here. God Bless you brother.
