A Dream from my Father

Recently I enjoyed a wonderful dream in which I met my late father in a field of grain. He stood there with the most peaceful expression and grain surrounding him about waist deep. He looked at me and said, "The harvesters are few." I remember nothing else of my dream, and I cannot explain why my beloved Dad would challenge me with these words. I would have expected such a dream to include the Lord Jesus giving such a message but the meaning of the dream was no less potent.
I pray each night that the Lord will increase my burden for the lost. I believe the followers of Christ must step forward to win souls. At risk may be ones dignity, friends, time, effort and reputation. However, the importance of the message exceeds any personal cost or retribution. The harvest of souls for the Lord by those who have accepted God's gift of eternal salvation is not an option but a duty. If the harvesters are few then why are there so many who call themselves Christians? Many have been fooled by the evil one into a false sense of security, through speaking words with their mouths that were not confirmed in their heart.
The only prerequisite to salvation is belief in that the Lord Jesus Christ in the Son of God, but with that belief follows the evidence of the new birth of the believer. Along with the belief in the Lord must follow the fruits of salvation. Christ said they will know you by your fruits, a good tree will not bring forth bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit. We must examine ourselves taking account of our production to provide confidence in the security of our eternal wellbeing. A lack of evidence of our rebirth must act as an alarm warning us that we are not prepared. The acceptance of the Lord's grace must produce a change in lifestyle. A miraculous rebirth is not an event to be forgotten like the passing of a resolution for the coming year. It is more significant than a physical birth as it is the dawning of eternal life with God in comparison with a brief physical life on earth. We should commemorate the date of our eternal birth in a manner that reminds us of what we were through our own efforts compared to what we are through the blood and power of Christ. At physical birth we were on the path of a short physical life followed by eternal damnation, but the grace of the Lord has changed that path to eternal life with God. Should not the crossroad were our direction changed to eternal life be more prevalent than the day we assumed individual life physically separated from our mothers.
Once we have accepted the gift Christ offers we have but one real purpose to remain on this earth. Our mission can not be to continually feed at the garden of God's generosity. We have a job to do. Yes, God loves us and he saved us to be with him forever, but he has an expectation of us. He expects us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart all your mind all your soul and all your strength this is the first commandment and the second is much like the first, love your neighbor as yourself. Then with that love follows the burden for your lost neighbors. If you love them how can you let them die by the thousands destined to eternity without God, and if we don't love them how can we be destined for eternity with God.

I think a lot of us (Christians) are doing what we are designated to do. I for instance would show patience in a stressful situation. "How can you not get upset?" I would reply something (depending on the situation) which would make that person marvel. "I want what he has" would be their thoughts. The next step is someone that would pray the acceptance prayer with them, then comes the one that keeps that person on the right path. Synonymous with digging a hole, planting the plant, then watering it constantly? Praising someone for something good they did, Being nice to the most difficult person, forgiving ones rash judgment and many more things, prepare people for coming into Gods Kingdom. I would say you are doing fine with the burden you have, remember someone has paved the way for you, or conversely you pave the way for some one else. God has all of us doing things collectively, that one on his own could not do.
