Okay, I have made a mistake in my math. It was 5 years ago not 7. Not sure how to edit the title.

Today is a special day, July 19, 2012. July 19 is my beloved father’s birthday. He was born in 1909 and passed away in 1975. A very dear friend has her birthday today also. She is 62 years young today.

But there is another reason this day is special for me. It was on this day July 19, 2007 that I joined ChristianBlog.

At first I was a free member. Most start that way. After getting to know a few people, I wanted to become a paid member. I remember the people that were here when I first joined. John was here of course, as was Greybear.

The others I remember that befriended me. Happytoberestored, savedbygrace, everfaithful, allforhim, almostgolden, poodlelady and one special lady laughingheart. She was in her 70’s at the time and is no longer with us. There are several others and all the names are not coming to me at the moment.

On one of my early visits to the chat room, we found several of us had birthdays in September so we had a birthday party in the chat room, with cake and cookies and ice cream and all kinds of fattening not good for us food.

As most people to, I had a little turmoil at first. A blog was hijacked and turned into a debate about something other than my blog. Some of my earlier blogs were not very good. I think we learn as we go and our writing improves. We learn how to communicate what we want to say in a better more acceptable way.

There was one lady that sent me a private message saying she joined CB because of a blog I had written. That touched me greatly and reminds me why we write blogs. It is not just to express ourselves, although that is surely a part of it. It is to reach others, to share our knowledge of God and learn from others as we read their blogs.

This site is blessed by God. There are so many caring and loving people here. Not everything is always perfect and sometimes there are shall we call them little upsets.

Some of the people that were here when I joined are still here. Some no longer are active. There has been added several special people like blessingstoyou, blest and kreynolds the princess. There have been some that come and go.

I feel blessed this day to still be a part of ChristianBlog and my plans are to be here for some time to come. God be willing.
